Dear Halifax Metro Transit (especially the double buses): I understand that you have this neat new by-law that says you have the right of way and when the left blinker is on, all other traffic must yield to you… but that doesn’t mean you can cut people off when they’re halfway done passing you. Yes you are huge and half a mile long, but if your right blinker is on and someone passes you, you can’t just flick your left blinker and cut them off. Those aren’t the rules. You can’t just kill people because you have a yellow triangle on your butt. —Almost Died Twice in 3 Days

  1. Good point OB. If you are already passing the loser cruiser when it has it’s right-indicator on, you have the right of way. I like getting ahead of them, and then slowing down to block them.

  2. most assholes try to cut in front of the bus o.p., saw it again today on the bridge, at least 4 of them. what the fuck is wrong with people anyway, it will take all of 2 seconds to cede right of way to a bus, but a long time in recovery. buses can’t stop dead still, and have never seen one do so yet.

  3. hmmm… the ever-raging fire between bu and motorist…
when I’m driving, I always just let the bus have its way.
it’s easier and really… I wouldn’t want to drive around the city all day…
the amount of idiots encountered alone gives them enough cred to just always yield to em.

  4. i always yield, barrington is bad for jackwads trying to pass the bus, they end up in the opposite lane and cause a clusterfuck

  5. i can empathize with this bitch.. ive seen a few bus drivers do the same thing…. its not “turn your light on and then pull out like you own the road” its “turn your light on and check that the people are obeying the new rule and letting you out, then proceed”

  6. If I “cut you off”, it’s because at least 2 other cars have ignored the left signal light. Also, if possible, see if the doors on the bus are open and/or passengers are getting on. This will give you an idea of how suddenly the blinker will come on.
