In the last two days, I have seen two very alarming driving habits by my fellow Haligonians. First, I see a car zoom past a schoolbus that had its flashing lights on and the stop sign out! Everyone else facing the schoolbus was stopped, and this car didn’t even come CLOSE to braking! Secondly, on my way home from work, I see someone else breeze through a crosswalk WITH the lights flashing above it on Quinpool where all other three lanes had stopped to let the pedestrian cross. PAY ATTENTION! Someone’s life could end all because you can’t be bothered to look at what’s going on around you. —Vigilant

  1. Actually todays paper says that 19 year old hit in a Dartmouth crosswalk did die on the week end.
You get in a drunken argument on the streets of Halifax, knock someone down & they die, its manslaughter.
Kill someone in a crosswalk with your car, its a $680.00 fine !
I wonder if the family gets the fine money or does the government put that in the fund to pay the multi million dollar companies , like Irving & Sobeys & New page ,who always seem to have their hands out ?
