OK… just got my property tax bill. With fucking spelling mistakes on it!!! WHAT THE FUCK???
I’m supposed to pay a pile of money so that you can hire uneducated clerks at likely minimum wage to type up this crap and send it to me? Pathetic!

This is the same subspecies of bureacratic genius who think that moving Access Nova Scotia to one of the least accessible parts of the HRM is a good idea.

They can’t decide whether they want to be called Access Nova Scotia or Service Nova Scotia, FFS! Just pick a name dammit and go with it! Makes finding their phone # a whole lot quieter with less expletives exploding fast and furious!
Hey Fatbastard, maybe they should invest more of your money in education so we aren’t turning out more illiterates into the workforce. Hands up, how many people are surprised that the lowering of educational standards has resulted in misspelled tax bills? What’s next? “Oh, look! Dr. Learnlittle has requested 8 aortec clamps, 6 rib-spredders and 5 sculpals for Mr Fatbastard’s bypass surgery today. He must be getting the full zipper job!”
I hate spelling mistakes in documents like that. Joking with the Communications gal here in my office, she’s being sent things DAILY from the National office in big TO piled full of mistakes, bad grammar and just wrong-ness. Apparently they sent a letter to Dal saying “Insiring minds” and “jungle bells” instead of jingle bells. And that was just this morning.
So feel better, the education system in Ontari-ario sucks too.
In re to Access/Service/Whatever Nova Scotia. Having spent 30 years in another province that let the private sector take over, I can honestly say that putting it all into private hands is the way to go. (That goes for liquor stores too.)
As far as the educational system goes, anyone that knows a teacher, knows how bad it is and how fast they push them through.
This is why NS cannot retain educated graduates. Where’s the compensation to stay when uneducated hicks get the jobs and unionized jobs that allows 50 employees to oversee the removal of one manhole cover?
I got a notice today from the Dept. of Justice for the province of Nova Scoita. Sweet. And that was in the header!
@An Ivan Too Far … actually Access NS (and their forced move out of their old location) is responsible for the Registry of Motor Vehicles among other things…they are not correlated with property taxes, they are sent out at the municipal level … I’m surprised they didn’t run a spell check first…hopefully that’s the only mistake 😉 … I didn’t get mine, that means it’s free, right ?

I should point out that what some see as a disturbing trend towards illiteracy has been matched by an increase in the amount of foul language used in public by both sexes. I never heard such language used by adults when I was younger, and I didn’t use it myself and still don’t. However, from what I’ve seen here at LTWWB, it appears that such language is now the societal norm.

Access Nova Scotia is the name of the physical facilities that house different Departments (Motor Vehicles, Residential Tenancies, etc).

🙂 I love that Access Nova Scotia is moving to Bayer’s Lake….it’s just across the road from my office. Hooray. It’s super easy to get to when you have a car. So if you don’t have a car, tough luck. Won’t be seeing you in the line anytime soon.
