I am a tad bit confused over these politicians over spending, faIse addresses, that not stealing or fraud? Why is it they only have to repay the money back, keep their jobs and their pensions. If that were one of us normal citizens, we would be charged, lose our jobs and have criminal record forever. Where is the justice? I say charge them like anyone else. They are supposed to represent our country!! —Just A Normal Hardworking Citizen

  1. I say we get american visas, take our talent there and just pop over the border to see a doctor now and then.

If enough of us did that, things would start to change.

Don’t get me wrong, this problem exists in america too. But america isn’t my problem. Canada is.

  2. What REALLY pisses me off is that if you owe them FIVE BUCKS, they will chase you down until you die, threaten to send you to jail if you don’t pay and charge you extortionate interest.

That money is getting pissed down the drain but we’re treated like common criminals if we don’t keep filling the pockets.

They’re ass-rammers. All of them. And someday it’ll come back. It has to.

  3. I find it hilarious that the two worst offenders in the current imbroglio were journalists before being declared capable of “sober, second thought” I guess Duff and Wall never met a free rubber chicken dinner they didn’t like.

My theory is that Harper really, really wants to get rid of the senate. His master plan was to load it with the worst freeloaders he could find, let their midsdeeds become public and then disband the whole rotten pack of them while riding a wave of popular outrage.
    That’s gotta be what’s happening, right? Because otherwise…. >: 0

And on a serious note, it might, just might look better for the government if they were as quick to expedite payouts to injured veterans, as they are to hack ex-broadcasters who can’t lift their snouts from the trough. What a concept – giving people who’ve actually done something for the country what they deserve.
Sometimes I say the craziest things *shakes head*

  4. I hadn’t thought of that Ethan….. nahhhh he can’t be THAT crafty! Although, it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world….. Our Senate is a monumental joke. I once saw a big fat senate debate on the use of PEN CAPS.

    good lord beer me strength!

  5. The feds should be doing what the NDP were forced to do in this province – post all expenses on-line, no ifs, ands or Mike Duffy’s butt.

The Senate is an outdated retirement complex for a bunch of demented old crooks, rewarded until they’re drooling on their parliamentary lobster bibs. Stick a fork in this institution of the privileged – all it has left is a blast of rancid air.

  6. There’s currently a petition on the interwebs to disband the Senate. Granted, it’s on the NDP website, and you have to scroll through a fairly lengthy spiel, but still.

  7. lol so funny^^

I agree with Crayons. You have the option to go elsewhere and stop paying into the crooked system. That’s what I want to do, just take my money and gtfoh. Takes some time and money, and usually some training because you can’t just show up somewhere without anything to offer, but it can be done.

It’s no secret, we work for the government, not the other way around. Not much you can do about it but go pay your taxes elsewhere.

  8. It could be right here, BroTim! Provided you check the box beside Captain next time you’re at the polls >;D

  9. There are crooked systems everywhere Bro Tim, I agree with you there, but ours is particularly expensive.

I wanna go somewhere nice and warm and cheap, and never come back.

  10. If that puffbag paid the money (or someone for him, or whatev) that’s pretty much an admission that he doesn’t live there.

The thing is, isn’t residence supposed to be a rather key element here? I mean, by his own action, he’s technically ineligible to be a Senator from PEI, isn’t he?

  11. The thing I find about residency is everyone these days are mobile. How many Maritimers in Fort Mac would consider themselves Albertans, even if they have been there for 10-20 years and heck we still call that Ontarian who moved here 40 years ago a come from away. When I was in the military I was always a Nova Scotian, regardless of where I was posted.
