Be careful what you wish for. Last week in a single trip I saw three individual people use the wrong blinker. And no, not a last minute change, they were sitting in the left turn lane, looking left with a right blinker on. Three times, same day, three different people. Sigh.
How does that even happen?
If you are too stooooopid to operate a blinker switch you should not be operating a motor vehicle of any kind.
People wonder why I bus more frequently than drive…
it’s ’cause there’s batshit crazy peeps like that on them thar roads.
blinkers are not the trouble here o.p., the stupid people driving are. the car is a perfect machine, the drivers however are another thing.
Blinkers mean nothing. Just ask the next person you know who pulls from a stop sign only to have the “blinker” car approaching NOT turn after all! Defensive driving people! Expect the unexpected. Actually these days it’s “Expect the Expected”. No one has ever been hurt by waiting those few extra seconds!
Yes Heather I’ve nearly been t-boned by that maneuver, signalling when they have no intention of turning. Pulling left out of Tim’s on Ilsley ave in Burnside you have to be a little aggressive as traffic is steady. I have a chance to get out because the only guy coming has his right signal on. I guess I didn’t realize he signalling to turn half a kilometer further down the road, I assumed he was turning into Tims silly me. Of course after almost pulling out in front of him, I get the dirty look. I must say, that scares the shit out of you, that split second you realize they’re not turning. Thank (insert deity or equivalent secular meaning here) for reflexes.
So kids in short signal when turning and please don’t signal if not turning.
OP …I just went & double checked my vehicle & my owners manual.
My truck has NO BLINKERS.
It does have signal lights, that will indicate turn direction (if the driver follows road rules & uses them), it also has stop/braking indicator lights & 4 way flashing/hazzards lights

Glad you’re ok, Reg. That is certainly frightening when it happens, especially up in Burnside. That place is brutal. Glad I’m on the other side of things. With the exception of the rotary, Herring Cove isn’t so bad 🙂
