This is to you Gloria McCluskey. Thank you so much, from all the tax payers, for being the personification of another nail in the coffin for growth in this city.

Since you saw fit to ensure there was no democratic process in regards to the proposed development on the Corner of Prince Albert Road and Glenmore Avenue in Dartmouth, a modest 15 story residential building – I am hoping you plan on making up the loss of tax revenue to the city out of your councillors salary? —dartmouthy

  1. Are we allowed to just fuck off and do whatever on this website? It sort of seems that way. Excuse me while I make multiple accounts and start spamming the shit out of the bitch section with porn, gore, and offensive/obscene material.

  2. Good Ol’ Gloria, in my opinion, is against any form of development. The developer planned to put up a nice building, not some nasty rat trap for more low-income people. Lake Banook would look great with more development around it. Then again, any form of advancement for this city in terms of properties is frowned upon. The developer is going to seek legal action now, and hopefully succeed.

  3. The best way to look at Gloria…is she can’t last much longer. We really need some new blood, & Dartmouth could be so much better served. The constant roadblocks thrown up for anything new by the cities so called council is crazy & no one, NO ONE should be able to stop any business person from bringing their developement ideas before a public hearing.
Did any of you read the story in todays Chronicly horrid ? THey already have approval for a 16 storey hotel on the site, & want to change it to a 15 story apartment complex !
it isn’t rocket surgery boys & girls…the building size is basicly the same !

  4. She is another shining example of public sector “welfare”. Just another useless outdated remnant of a society that fears change.

  5. A smart developer would have waited until Decenber 2012 – after the election. Who is going to piss off 200 – 300 voters in a district where 2 or 3 people will be fighting for one seat ? Don’t do business in isolation from politics.

  6. FUCK I HATE HER. I don’t think she would be pleased with this city until it’s just a bunch of shacks and rubble. With no bars of course.

  7. i just really wish this fucking town, would sink into the ocean. then we wouldn’t have to worry about crooked mayors, or other fucking shit. the best solution would be to vote against these fucking douchebags, come election time. those that don’t, then they are helping to perpetuate the problem, and therefore, have no right to fucking gripe.
if you voted kelly in, suck it the fuck up. if you voted against him, then you ad i, have every right to bitch and complain. you can’t get rid of a illness, by keeping the syptoms around.

  8. I say we all get together and buy all the domains we can with councillors names in them – they are dirt cheap really. Could help make it a much more engaging and entertaining election season this time around 😉 I’m already working on Gloria’s

  9. I’m confused. Didn’t that abomination of an ice cube tray, King’s Wharf, just get permission to build upscale apartments because there was no market for ‘medium scale’ units? I agree that the developer should have had an opportunity to present, but if there’s no market for modest residential buildings, why build one?

Sorry, just looking for clarification here—I didn’t see the article in the herald/I looked…

  10. Ice cube tray, really? Surely you aren’t referencing the 33 story main building, evocative of the mainsail on a sail boat? You must mean the medium scale, 10-15 story units that are currently in progress?

I was overjoyed when I found out they would be building something new for the first time in at least two decades in Downtown Dartmouth, trust me.

Regardless, there is oodles of demand for apartment stock in this city. And it doesn’t get much better than 100 metres away from an eight lane highway, transit at the doorstep, and in the midst of a strip of commercial properties.

  11. So its okay for some people to break the rules, but not for others? That doesn’t really make sense PK. What if I found out your real name and posted a bitch about you? I would imagine you wouldn’t be too pleased by that.

Yes the person mentioned in the bitch is a public figure, but that doesn’t change the rule that bitches are not supposed to directly identify the person/company that is being bitched about. I realize that I did post a bitch that indirectly identified Tommy, but it was vague enough that the average person wouldn’t be able to tell who it was. I do see the hypocritical nature of this comment considering I regularly break the rules, but at least I’m not naming names.

Fuck this awful website. Next time I’m drunk and pass by a coast box, I’m going to use it to store my doo doo butter.

  12. Oh I wasn’t saying anything about rules and stuff, I’m just saying I enjoy what you’re doing now quite thoroughly!

I actually didn’t pick up on what your comment was about. I have a pretty huge headache today so I’m a little out of it.

To be honest, I’m surprised the name was posted too. Usually there aren’t any names, just suggestions of who it might be. Hmm….

I agree with what Dartmouthy wrote, though.

  13. Perhaps the Coast was an incensed as I am, reading that a councillor not only scuttled proper civil democracy, but in the same swipe of her magic wand, scuttled $500,000 of tax revenue for the city, year after year after year.

The arrogant ignorance of those who rule the roost in this berg frightens me! And it should frighten anyone who wants there to be city services provided to the residents here in twenty years time.

  14. My first comment vaguely referenced the lack of rule enforcement which was the intent. I wasn’t on the attack against you PK, just using my favorite regular as an example.

I keep myself out of politics because just like religion, it’s a chore to talk about in general conversation.

This officially my last serious non-trolling post.

  15. Zilla—you should have a different screen name for this personality. I once worked with a bartender, Lisa. You kept a good distance from her on the days she wore the Madeline nametag.

Really good points about using names, though. A bitch I wrote last summer about the lobstercam (‘bait yo’ trap!’) never got printed, I assumed for that reason…

  16. D-man-thanks for the clarification. I ken the place, I’ve biked there (my bike on the Trans Canada Bikeway near the area of which you speak)

Plus talk about your easy commute you’d have living there— you could Kayak in the summer and skate in the winter…
It’s too bad there couldn’t have been a compromise-8 storeys? 10? 15 storeys might make it too congested, but that’s just me; tall buildings creep me out as residences.

As far as King’s Wharf goes, this is the only thing it ever evoked in me:

  17. If articles in The Coast can call out politicians by name, why shouldn’t bitches be able to? I think public figures are fair game, especially elected officials. One of the bitches in the past mentioned Tom Petty by name. Big whoop

  18. From now on whenever someone uses idiotic logic like Tommy just did, I’ll be referring to it as “Tommy Logic”. See examples below:

If abortions are legal then we should be able to punch pregnant women in the stomach!

If you can buy Advil at the store then you should be able to purchase crack there too!

If you are allowed to drive 100 km/h on the highway then you should be able to drive 100 km/h on city streets!

  19. I’m pretty sure The Coast is just covering their asses so they won’t either get sued or have another incident like the firefighter incident.

  20. I didn’t put words into your mouth. You compared articles on the website to the bitches. While they are similar in the sense they are written by people and mostly in English, they are not in fact the same thing.

The articles are intended to have journalistic merit (they usually don’t because this website/paper is shit). The bitches are intended to be anonymous stress reliever that provides a humorous section to the paper/website.

It’s sort of useless to argue with me Tommy. You’re not of extremely low IQ (we haven’t witnessed you picking your asshole and smelling it…..yet), but you are no where near me in terms of intelligence. Which is pathetic because I’m about three points above riding the short bus.

  21. It’s useless to argue with you because you’re a little fucking wanker with nothing better to do than insult people you’ve never met. You’re not interested in argument, you’re interested in trolling. Now go post my face on another picture since that’s all you’re good for, and keep hiding behind that alias while you make statements about other people’s intelligence. If you ever feel like having a face to face conversation you know where to find me.

  22. Xeno…it was in the business section.

And Snubiz ,all of us cat haters are not always fossils. Some of us just happen to know Dogs are better than cats ~;p

For me, if I had to make a choice & couldn’t opt out…& the choice was a new pet kitty or a long term root canal problem…I’d pick the root canal problems.
That’s how much I dislike the little bastards.
Just the thought of having an animal that shits & pisses in my home (not too mention pukeballs)…& that I have to buy stuff so they can do it day after day while I constantly clean up after them….not bloody likely mate !

Honey…where’s the hair removal thing ?
Your damn cats shedding like f’in crazy again !

  23. I’m not tough at all. Like you said….I’m hiding behind a made up persona and a Godzilla picture I pulled off of google. You have all the balls here my friend. Posting your picture, name, where you live, what car you drive, and just being yourself. To be completely honest, you are a shining example of what everyone here should strive towards.

Everyone give a round of applause to the bravest and toughest man to have ever posted on the Coast bitch section.

  24. So, judging by the comments in here re: zilla vs thomas/thomas vs zilla, a zilla-thomas-pk threesome is OUT of the picture, amirite?

    🙁

    😛

  25. Ah, see this is where we differ Zilla, my definition of internet tough guy is the guy trying to piss people off while remaining anonymous. I see where our lines got crossed there.

Hell no PK! I want you all to myself! Why you want to get it on with a lizard anyways? They’re all scaly and stuff, plus he breathes fire, and I have a strict policy of not getting too close to fire or anything that hot when my junk is exposed. Sorry:P

We can get it on while he watches, from a distance, maybe..

  26. And the bravest LTTWB member would be Ivan, Zilla. He’s a General, dontcha know. Oh and the suckster packs heat, and Z is nice with a blade, so probably a good idea to stay out of their neighborhood, fyi.

  27. Wow. I must be a regular, b/c I can tell Tommy has left the workplace and is kicking back, enjoying a cold one. ☯

  28. “We can get it on while he watches, from a distance, maybe.. “

Voyeurism. Hmm… I *might* be able to get into that.

“I want you all to myself!”

    Aww <3

  29. Halifax is just against business and employment in general. Glad I’m in Calgary now and the jobs are plentiful! They aren’t afraid to have tall buildings in their CITY. Get out while you can folks.
