My current roommate and I have been hunting for his replacement for a few months now, and while our ads get a fairly good response, about 90 percent of the people contacting us are total no-shows! They make a viewing appointment and then we never hear from them again! These are on our days off, that are now spent hanging around the house waiting for someone who is never coming. The least they could do is drop us a quick email or text (or respond to ours looking for them) to say, “sorry, but I’m no longer interested!” Have some common courtesy. —Wouldn’t Want To Live With You Anyway

  1. I recommend you read Waiting For Godot while waiting for your potentially non-existent roommate to arrive. It would add a bit of intrigue to the affair.

“Waiting for Godot is an absurdist play by Samuel Beckett, in which two characters, Vladimir and Estragon, wait endlessly and in vain for the arrival of someone named Godot.”

  2. Indeed, they should have some common courtesy. I find their behaviour unconscionable and completely unacceptable. The question of course, is how you are to pass the time while waiting for these no shows. Might I suggest taking up one of the plastic arts or perhaps Inuit throat singing?

  3. The simian would grow tired of your feces hurling and spontaneous penile display very quickly, no doubt.

  4. Yes, deplorably Willard is given to both those inappropriate activities. It would have been an insupportable burden having accepted his invitation to live with him.
