Now don’t get me wrong I love pets a lot and have three different species. Now this is where my Bitch comes in. At least once a week I hear someone talking about how they care more about animals (i.e. only their own pets by the way) then people. I guess their attitude always stems from the argument that pets can’t choose their owners they’re stuck with them. Well to all I say kids can’t choose what family they’re born into, which country they’re born in or what level of poverty their upbringing faces. But yeah lets care more about animals then actual people that can make a difference if given the proper helping hand. I don’t know what happened to these animal first people but I can only surmise their lives revolve around shitty people to have the audacity to value a cat/dog/fish above a human being. I feel sorry for them I truly do. Now what really cracks me up is most of these people I’ll ask if they’re vegetarians. Only a few a select few. So these people value animals above people but they eat said animals? Hypocrites! —h’education!

  1. Yes. I love my pet more than I can stand most people.
Yes. I eat pork and beef and chicken by the tractor trailer load.
    Hypocrisy? Perhaps.
But until the government can properly regulate health and safety issues and find a way to collect the revenues from legalized cannibalism, that’s how it’s gonna be, bitch.

  2. Wait… so you’re implying that people who love animals more than they love humans – who are vegetarians – will eat their own pets, correct? Unless the rules of English grammar have changed, that is…

  3. I totally understand why people prefer the company of an animal to a human being. An animal won’t lie, cheat or bullshit you. An animal’s love is genuine when inspired by the right human. People will do everything & anything to you, including selling your mother wholesale. No wonder the wee beasties win hands down for companionship.

As for being a meat-eater, most pets are meat-eaters as well. Does that make Fido & Fluffy hypocrites? I’ll have to call my yard crows ‘cannibals’ the next time they chow down on left-over chicken.

  4. LW’s logic precludes the fact that edible animals are as sentient as cute little kitties and dogs. Word of advice: don’t go to China.

  5. My only gripe regarding pets is with entitled people who knowingly let their dogs off leash in an on-leash park. A lot of older folks, like my neighbour, enjoy a walk in a park but are afraid of being knocked down by a large dog – even if it is being friendly. They need to know that when they go to an on-leash park they will not encounter dogs running wild and out of control. So, dog owners – be responsible – obey the signs.

  6. Most people these days treat their dogs as humans not as pets. These poor animals become neurotic, anxious, suffer from separation anxiety, etc. They do not function as they should because they are treated like humans and not pets. Many who have pets should not own any. I love animals very much. We grew up with many different animals in our home, but I would never give an animal the place which belongs to the human race. We as humans are flawed and fucked up, but there is no need to inflict this behavior on poor animals that only want to please and be loved.

  7. Put it this way… If given a choice to press a button to save a person or a puppy, prolly gonna be the puppy. Just sayin.

  8. Yeah, Poprah, let’s see you press the button on that human begging for his/her life especially if said being was a child. I’d pay the equivalent of an outdoor Shakespeare play to see that.
