Up until a few nights ago my backyard was dark enough that I could see the stars on a clear night, one of my favorite things to do. And then all of a sudden two nights ago I’m standing in my kitchen looking out the back window and realize there is a spotlight on me. It’s so bright that it lights up any room in the house facing the backyard, and the stars have faded out. My yard is mostly woods in the back, however there is a street beyond that, and someone it seems has gotten a new light for their back patio, which they have not turned off for days. All well and good, but could you please take note of where that light is being directed. I would be so grateful if you could replace the bulb with a softer light or change the angle so that it’s pointing down and not directly into my home. —Missing The Stars

  1. It’s probably part of a security system, because while the moon was in your seventh house, some meth-head creeperapist was smashing the patio doors to get into his.

  2. Because bitching here is going to do anything. Go to this street, find out where it’s coming from and ask they point it elsewhere. Unless they’re total assholes, they’ll probably help you out. If they ARE assholes about it THEN come back and bitch 😉

  3. Have you actually gone over to your neoghbours and tell them? They may not even realize their light is in your window. Why do some people think others should be able to read their minds. If you have a complaint or a compliment, open your mouth and tell the person.

  4. Yes, your neighbour reads LTWWB regularly so will see your post and redirect this megawatt lantern elsewhere so as not to interfere with your star gazing.

  5. why do so many people believe they are impotent?
so many times people fret and steam about something that could have been resolved by speaking up. or even leaving a note! instead they post it in the sky hoping that some kind of miracle will occur and some entity will make it all better.

  6. Ask them to turn the light away from the house. If they get all shitty about it, go rent one of those generator powered light banks they use for road construction, park that baby on your property line and, point that shit at their house overnight. Bet they reconsider. If not, you’ll definitely make some cops have a good laugh.

you could always set up a mirror directing it back…
I’m sure they’d get the point fairly quickly.
