OMG I know ambulances have to be heard so you can get out of the way, but do they have to pierce your brain?? The next time one passes within 5 feet of my open car window I’m gunna need an ambulance!!

Even at full blast most drivers ignore them. Wait they’re not ignoring them, they have their i-cracks in their ears or that $2,000 stereo in their $200.00 piece of crap turned up full blast.

The ipod example is classic — I could hear someone’s music word for word coming from their ipod at the back of the bus and I was at the front of the bus the other day….yet someone would bitch about an ambulance?
This is the stupidest bitch in history….and that’s taking all the boring break up bitches on here into account.
and that is why you don’t need distractions like fucking loud music, or people screaming out in your ears.
They need to be loud to save lives. When an ambulance approaches, you stop. Use the free time to cover your ears with your hands. The siren is loud enough to cause hearing damage. It’s much worse when you see walking between buildings.

DAMN, were I earlier, I would have been sayin’ “why they gotsta be all honkin’ and road ragin’ on me while I’m just tryin’ to drive here……. siren-a-blazin like they own sound around me. YOU DON’T OWN MY SOUND SENSES……..”
but now that it’s too late to do that, I’ll just thank them for everything they try to do every day of their ‘on-the-clock” life to help everyone.
I wonder if the OP was aboard an ambulance, would they want it to be as loud and fast as possible?
Sirens have actually been made louder in the past few years because cars are becoming more sound proof and emergency vehicles need to be heard.

If OP was in the back of an ambulance (and I have), he/she would be screaming for that fucking siren to shriek louder. This is a matter of life and death, bub – your whine reeks of the typical selfishness that permeates our world today. Your poor little delicate ears may have been pierced but at least they can continue with their primary function – to hold in the pulsating feces between them.
I’d much rather hear an emergency vehicle’s siren vs. a excessively loud motorcycle anyday. At least the siren is being used by a valuable service and has some value to it.

And forgets one little thing. Sirens face forward, not to the rear.
Where was the back peddling frosty? I’m against loud bikes rattling the neighbourhood awake but the fire engine, police car or ambulance is using the noise to alert people so they pull over and clear the way for them. A loud bike, in particular one modified to make excessive noise, does nothing more than disturb those around it.
