On another note to do with my lost cat. To my “friend” that was supposed to be watching my cat while I was forced out of my house for renovations, I honestly don’t believe that you feel bad for a second that you lost her. You text me once a week or so “Have you found her?” “No I haven’t. Have you?!?!” Of course not because I doubt your so much as keeping an eye out for her. I’m glad that this happened in a sense though, because now you’ve corrected the problem that allowed my cat to escape and won’t be loosing your cat as well. —Wish you had more common sense

I’ll do you one even more horrifying op.
My PARENTS did the exact same thing to me. Refused to help me look and showed absolutely no remorse, just irritation toward my justified anger.
She had been gone for three days before I got home. They only realized it the day i returned and said “Where the hell is Turnip?”
I still love them. I just don’t trust them with anything precious.
Love’s like a sea, op. There are some relationships that are very, very worth it but they have different levels of depth. Some relationships can only survive in the bright, colourful shallows where the prettiest fish swim and everything is fun. Some relationships can sink a little deeper than that. Some go all the way to the bottom and settle there in the muck and the blackness. There is a lot of pressure with depth like that op. Some friendships just can’t take the pressure.
But instead of write them off, rise a little, you know go to the upper ocean and try something with less depth and pressure.
I have had a few friends screw me, fuck up stupidly or otherwise just not live up to the person they claimed they were. SOmetimes i write them off but mostly i just readjust the depth of our friendship.
I’m not saying you should tell your friend to fuck off. I’m saying take some time away, explain why and if they care to work it out, they will.
I really hope you find your kitty.
By the way, want to know how I found turnip? Put an ad on the radio 🙂
CKDU might be willing to do that for free op. It worked shockingly, surprisingly well. No, seriously i would never have expected the radio to work that well.
I think people sift out into two diff groups, those who think ‘it’s just an animal’ and those on the other side. varying degrees within the two groups, but in the ‘just an animal’ group anyone who doesn’t physically torture an animal believes they are in the other group. they are not.
Yes, it’s all their fault you didn’t pay a professional to care for your animal. I hope the 100 bucks you saved was worth it. It was ultimately your decision where to leave your beloved pet, therefore the responsibility is yours alone.
I don’t know your friend but cats are very tricky creatures. You might be vigilantly trying to keep a cat from getting out but one lax second and the cat is off and running in the great outdoors. Could be letting the cable guy in and the cat will squeeze through that little opening while he’s coming in.
However I again hope you’re reunited with the furball soon.
