Just a thought… but here we all are moaning and bitching about the strike (especially me since I am trying to find a job while these dipwads strike) but not really doing anything about it. On the news last night the reporter stated that we the public are the most affected BUT we the public have not been heard from except on forums like this. Shouldn’t we the public by now be taking matters into our own hands and lead a strike of our own (or at least a picket line… protest). How about those that take taxis or rely on others for drives get receipts and send them to KW and tell him he owes the public this much money for inconveniencing us the public and taking away something we need everyday. Also those that need public transit for health reasons to get to appointments and now can’t send KW their medical bills. Maybe we the public need to kick a few asses to get this strike over with instead of sitting on our own asses and bitching about the strike from a computer… just a thought. —Action Seeker

  1. Yes. Let’s beat up the striking workers. Like the strike busters in the 30’s. And Grandpa Simpson. Ass.

  3. I much prefer the lord of war position I’ve found myself in…
    I let both sides fight it out and profit from the calamity.
    (profit in that I save on a bus pass, save buying lunches I can now make in my kitchen at my leisure… no wasted time commuting… and the extra hour of sleep I’m getting is amazing!)

    if they’re getting sick of fighting, restock the jello they’re rolling around in… throw in some red bull, and instigate another round…

  4. The strikers of the 30’s didn’t have a moron as a leader and they had real reasons to strike like poor and unsafe working conditions and shitty pay.

    When you keep on losing support from the public by doing idiotic things, it’s time to rethink your position.

  5. I drove by while my buddy yelled at them out the window, OP, if that makes you feel any better.

  6. @Action Seeker….how the hell are we, the people who are truly immobile because of this strike, supposed to take action when we can’t fucking get anywhere? All we can do is write or call our council members, bitch on blogs or in posts to the on-line papers, probably to little or no avail whatsoever. Your other suggestions are also absurd and will have no effect whatsoever.

  7. Wow. Looks like the strike is turning into a bus boycott now that it’s been 5 weeks and no one’s walked their feet off. Days are getting longer, and if you’re not riding your bike yet you will be soon! Y’all are sounding lean and mean…fit and toned and ready to lay siege on them whiney ass bitches at the MTA. I think you should do an old fashioned bus boycott!
    Boycott until
    • the exorbitant price of a monthly pass is reduced to $50 at the most;
    • Transfer passes can be used for 3 hours;
    • The Gotime must be accurate within 90 seconds;
    • The woodside ferry terminal must be more bicycle friendly;
    • Woodside ferry should have a weekend route from the Seaport Farmers Market.
    I’m sure there are many more demands you could add to the list, folks..

    Fight the Power!

  8. xeno,
    we might as well ask all drivers to have less than 3% bodyfat and wear french maid/sexy firefighter costumes while we’re at it….
    we’ll never see that happen anyways.

  9. believe it or not o.p., but kelly does read this column. i won’t say how i know, but he does. petey boy, offer them one last offer, the very first you put on the table, if they refuse it, close the thing down, and fire the whole shebang. you have the ower to do it.
    then you can tender out a contract for a new service. greyhound is not wth these guys. or some other carrier. but get rid of the whole bunch of rotten apples.
