A DOUBLE STANDARD?

If we take this bitch at face value, “Blackout” (sorry for the conventional spelling) is protesting against a white male coming into his (i.e., black) territory and hitting on “his” (i.e., black) women. Two questions arise:

(1) How is whitey making out? On the basis of Blackout’s comments, It sounds like he’s doing okay. What does this mean? Does it mean that black women prefer white males? Do they find them more, um, refined? More committed to traditional family values (i.e., sticking around after the birth of their off-spring)? Bring neither black nor female, I cannot comment knowledgeably on this point. Perhaps there are some black females out there who could enlighten us. Come on, girls, let’s hear your thoughts!

(b) Is there a double standard operating here? Blackout’s message is obviously contrary to the principles of an inclusive multiculturalism in which all colours and sexual orientations and so on are to be vigorously embraced. The problem is we hear nothing from those who proclaim such values and who, equally vigorously, demonize those who would reflect on their implications (i.e., as in questioning the good taste of the Halifax Gay Pride Parade). I have previously called these people “The New Puritans.” They denounce those who would even question the purity and righteousness of their pronouncements. But where are they now? Do they operate under a double standard? Where are you meOw? Where are you Snoop? Cat got your tongue?
