WTF? I’m trying to adopt a dog but all I can find are AmStaffs and Amstaff mixes. Are these dogs so gdamn dumb that they are forever running away, or are Pit-bull owners the worst goddamn kind of dog owner in this province? —looking for a lab mix that doesn’t have pitbull jawls

You are looking in the wrong place. Plenty of dogs for adoption if you get off your arse and go visit some of them. Looking at photos online isn’t the way to select a dog. The best thing to do is let the pooch choose you. Try it.

Why the big hard on of hate for AmStaffs and Amstaff mixes? Many are loving, sweet animals who desperately need a dose of human love and kindness. To paint an entire breed with the same broad brush makes me wonder if you should even own an animal. I’ll betcha if you were adopting a kid, you’d go right for the blue-eyed, blonde Caucasian.
Just look at Shultz and his kid the pit bull. Shultz rants and raves just like an uncontrollable, vicious, untrained pit bull he, Shultz, is.

I think it is sad that pit bull owners are so quick to give up on their loving friendly loyal family pets.
Guys with these types of dogs use them as compensation for small penises…
i think your question answers itself. why are there some many of this particular type of dog up for adoption, because people are stupid and don’t know anything about dogs
I sometimes feel sorry for certain pit bulls, normally the ones owned by thugs and thug wanna be’s, the poor dog must think ‘ what did I do to deserve this slack jawed mutant for an owner’

in california it’s a glut of purse chihauhaus. along the eastern seaboard in the us its hounds and bird dogs
northern alberta/manitoba its husky shepherd crosses.
flavour of the month for the area. plus we have a few more staffie type dogs here because of the proximity to ontario (banned there) and quebec’s kill shelters, so we have groups that freedom-rail them to here. and like anywhere, the assholes who BREED them for bucks. if he can get $600 a puppy and mom dog has 8 puppies at a time, and if he can give her the cheapest food and minimal care he can make some money. if he gets two females in constant whelping its steady income. gb was quoted as saying ‘a dog in the basement is money in the bank’.
there are many shelters with other types of dogs. black dogs/cats are hard to adopt out too. go take some dogs for a walk, don’t judge on looks. i would hope the rescue would fully vet you

I will never “buy” another dog. If and when I do get another pup after Blue, it will come from the SPCA.
