Sitting at the back on 80, going to work. About a quarter of the trip, bus clears out. Two women sitting in the front, seemingly friendly enough, they don’t move as various people come on and sit by them and go off the bus. A black mother and what appears to be her adorable son, sit beside them. Instantly they slide away from them, within 10 seconds they move to the very back of the bus…. I said a small a piece of my mind as I get off at my stop. The look on the woman’s face was obvious. Race problems exist everywhere, and actions do sometimes speak louder then words. We live in a place with a long history of racism and though it’s getting better, what about that woman and her son? —Let’s talk about this EVERYDAY!

  1. Maybe they moved to avoid the child, irrespective of its colour? Maybe they were taking about “adult” matters of which children shouldn’t hear?

Not all is as it seems; just like straight guys who want to bottom for gay guys… Yes. Yes, some do…

  2. They probably don’t like children. I would move too if a kid sat next to me and there were other free spots. As adorable as the kid may be, he’s still annoying if he screams in your ear, kicks you or gets disgusting soggy crackers and stuff on you. I don’t care if that child is black, white, or purple: I don’t want to sit next to him/her. How does it feel like to be *that* person that when people get home/to work they say, “You will not BELIEVE the crazy guy that was on the bus”.. not to mention the fact that you singled out the black woman and her son and probably embarrassed them. Come down from your high horse, OB and use that noggin.
