WTF? They are moving Access Nova Scotia to Bayer’s Lake? That’s a terrible idea. Too far away, too much driving, too inaccessible to people who want to access it.—Inaccessible Nova Scotia

I agree.
I wonder what overpaid bonehead in government came up with that stooge move? Bayers Lake’s jake with me but what about the thousands of people on the peninsula? Fuck, be prepared to see all the Liquor Stores either go to Ecum Secum and West Dover.
since when in anyone’s memory, has the government, any one of them, did something for our convience. you will be holding your hand on your asses for a fucking long time. remember, this is a body government we are talking about.
Take the bus. Ha ha, I know…

The Access Nova Scotia Centre, currently located at the West End Mall, Mumford Road, Halifax, will be relocating to 300 Horseshoe Dr., Bayers Lake, effective October 1.
This move is necessary as the current lease is expiring and the landlord has chosen not to re-offer.
The new location was selected through government’s fair tendering process.

Fair tendering process is all nice but what about convenience to those using the services provided at ANS? Could you pick a more out of the way spot? And just what HRM needs – more friggin traffic congestion in BLP.
How dare you demean the good folks at Access!?
You are accusing them of not using a fair tender process!
I’ll have your name and address from the Coast in the morning – just TRY to renew your license this summer, just TRY!

I love you, frosty.
In my last province of residence, instead of one large facility, the public was better served by a number of small facilities. This offered the convenience of closer proximity for customers and smaller line-ups to endure before getting served …a win-win situation.
find some place in the central downtown area, come on did you even try? many essential things happen there including tenancy hearings and even through buses go to Bayers Lake, they run rarely take forever and still the parking lot is so large it is a safety hazzard if you need to drive through it….I say the decision benefits who?
Gotta love the irony, moving “Access N.S.” to a place with the shittiest public transit access in the HRM. Never accuse the snivel servants of not having a sense of humor. Gotta go, Metro Transit Police are kicking in my front door. Spassibo Kyle, you fucking stukach.
i hear purdys wharf has an awful lot of extra space. plus there are other services there. lawyers, dentists, customs, and not to mention, food places.
Purdys Wharf is almost as bad as Bayers Lake. Where the hell are you going to park?
That really sucks. Its the first Ive heard about the moved. Im very PO’ed.
I dont mind the move (yes, it is geographically further). But they werent offered a renewal on the lease, and downtown? are you fucking kidding me. There are like 10 parking spots free during the day at most… It’s not like you have to go to ANS often anyways… You’ll get over it.
just unreal.
they might as well put it on the fucking space station.
people aren’t going to have all day to get transfers and trek out there.
this place is getting more retarded by the day.
It’s a great idea. More people work in the Bayer’s Lake area than in Halifax Shitting Centre, and there is NEVER parking there. I look forward to them moving here. Lots of businesses continue to move here, and expansion has begun behind RONA, etc. If you’d can’t drive to Bayer’s Lake, don’t bother getting your license.
Sebastian even if you don’t get your license, you need to go to Access NS to get your ID card so you can get into bars or vote or get a criminal record check done. And no parking at West End Mall? I’ve never had a problem parking there and it’s easy to access by bus. It’s too bad they couldn’t have found another location to suit their needs better.
What the fuck? Kids in Clayton Park are won’t benefit, they already get ferried around everywhere by their parents. Peninsular kids don’t, and it takes over an hour to get to the BLIP by bus plus a great deal more trudging and waiting in snow. There is PLENTY of vacant space downtown. Hell, did they look at the new developments going in at the old Bayers Road Shopping Centre?
BLIP only got sidewalks (on one side of the road, I might add) LAST YEAR.
The bus service itself isn’t terrible if you’re only going to chain lake (two busses, both runs every 30 minutes and the 52 runs every 15 minutes during peak periods), it’s just the fact that it’s just a pain in the effing ass to bus up there regardless given the fact that it’s SO ped unfriendly. You take your effing life into your hands if you’re trying to go to walmart/superstore/costco after getting off in front of kent or the A&W — the driveway has NO walkway whatsoever.
Thankfully I live within walking distance of these places, but HORSESHOE COURT? More like horseshit court.
Hey, remember the dark days when we lined up out the door and around the block when it was on young (where steak and stein is). Man, now that sucked.
yeah i remember those days cranky…by the time i had my picture taken it looked like a mug shot
Hell, I only go there for drivers license and plate renewals so I obviously have a car!!
Thus no busing issues for me! :o)
What other services do they offer there?
And those Young st. lineups were brutal!!!!!
I remember that, cranky! I was a kid and always hated going there because the wait was OMGSOLONG.
My dad always said that the best day to go when it was there was on xmas eve day because no one was there.
They need to be open on Saturday
