hi i am here to bitch about the fucking teachers and the lates. ever since the first year this school was built it was a good first year and now there getting more horrible by day. now they are complaining why students are showing up so late for class when the teachers make us sign a stupid fucking sign in before we even go to class. it really serves no purpose and it clogs the halls up. even if you sign a fake name they don’t seem to give a shit about it.

I’d be more concerned with the quality of the English program
You might want to show up early and learn some English!
Showing up late for class is disrespectful and disruptive. Instead of whining about the late policy, you might consider your education over what is or is not convenient for you. Do you not think it is an inconvenience for teachers to need to tell high school students what they should have learned in junior high in regards to student expectations and so forth? For every slacker who may agree with your complaint, there is a motivated student who is tired of classmates such as yourself interfering with their right to a quality education. Seriously, if the student population could be trusted to show up for class, there would not be a need for a sign-in sheet. Obviously, truancy is rampant at Citadel High, or there would not be a need for such measures. Finally, I can’t help but agree with those who posted before me. If you wish to make a persuasive argument, you may want to look at your choice of language, spelling and grammar. Persuasive writing is one of the writing strands covered in both Junior High and High School. Were you absent or LATE on the days when learning to construct a cohesive argument was taught? Back to basics, my friend. And if that includes being held accountable for attendance first, and building on that — so be it!
BlueBelle, the reason for the sign in sheets is actually because students are not allowed in the hallways during class times if they have a free or some other excuse. It distracts the teachers, and they make a lot of noise. I’m actually another student from that school, and I have to say… the sign in sheet is kind of annoying. It really does create congestion in the hallways which really is a nuisance, but I understand why they have it.
However, back to the bitch… I don’t really agree with teachers being bitchy about lates. Whenever I’m late, they either ignore me or give me a look… but I don’t remember any teachers making a scene over a late. I actually think I only have maybe… one late on my report card? What kind of teachers do you have……?
I’m no longer a high school student. However, when I was….my classmates and I knew to be admitted to class when late with nary a word was a good thing, and we certainly didn’t place blame back on our teachers if we were late. Yeah, nobody is perfect and teens are teens. We live, we make mistakes, we learn. I guess I just have a problem with the way the post of the bitcher came across. It certainly seemed that the poster was shifting blame to the teachers. As for the sign-in sheets, I guess in a highly populated school such a Citadel, people do what they can to cut down on the congestion. Again, based on the bitch put forth by the poster, it came across as if the sig-in sheet had more to do with punctuality and attendance. That is my misunderstanding and I’ll take ownership of that. However, I still maintain that the poster’s bitch was poorly argued. I must say, I am relieved to see that you, megsee, are much more articulate.
could they perhaps move the sheet then?
or is it for every classes attendance?
don’t the teachers perform attendance themselves to ensure you’re not just signing you and your friend’s name while he goes off to get high?
We never had this when I was in high school…
of course I went to a more rural, petite HS back then.
If you learn one thing in life, learn to be on time for things. You think you’re getting bitched at for being late in High School, wait until you’re locked out of class in University, or have the entire class bitchy at you instead. And in the professional world, being late is never acceptable. People who are consistently late drive me insane.
Bluebelle, I completely understand where you’re coming from, and I do agree too that the bitch was very poorly argued.
“I must say, I am relieved to see that you, megsee, are much more articulate.”
Thank you, that’s why I’m in I.B. haha. : )
zZz, I don’t think they can move the sheet. They have it at the beginning of each hallway and they only let students into the hallway if they have a legitimate place to go, and also if they have a class at that time (ie. not on their free / break). It’s not really for attendance, it’s more so for the congestion / noise issues in the halls when classes have started. However, they really don’t monitor the sheet well considering you actually CAN put down a completely ridiculous, fake name and the teacher / monitor doesn’t notice…
yeah, that’s fucked.
I’m surprised that’s a big issue… wonder if the principle brought in consultants to assess the situation rather than ad-hoc’ing this bizarro system. S’pose its better than implanting them with GPS chips or dog collars or something.
Last time I checked, this was a bitch about being late and the awkwardness involving the sign-in sheet b/c it causes congestion in the hallway…why is the OP being lectured on grammar?
And who the fuck uses the word “nary” in a normal everyday conversation? BlueBelle, you come off sounding pretty condescending and like a pompous asswad.
I sound condescending because I use the word nary in my everyday vernacular? Oh well. If I worried about how I sounded, I might have given it some thought before using the term. Those who know me would tell you I am anything but condescending or pompous, but you are entitled to your opinion. I do, however, have a penchant for old English, it would seem..which would be my perogative. I simply don’t understand why someone who complained about a person becing lectured on grammar then turns to complain about another person’s choice of words. Somewhat hyprocritical, is it not?
