Today’s parade was great except for the unhappy “Emperor” who failed to wave or smile to members of our community and those visiting our city. It was pretty obvious he didn’t want to be there given the glare he gave to the “common folk” along the route.
You don’t represent a lot of the community and thankfully so. Fundraising is all good but you need to keep your drama and issues out of the spotlight (ie. the drama about taking a flight out west a couple of months ago). If you don’t like the position, don’t run next election. —A member of the gay community

Oh cut him some slack. It can’t be easy spending 3 hours in a fug of diesel exhaust mixed with the effluent of a thousand pairs of sweaty leather chaps. Not to mention the same fucking Lady GagGag tune being salvoed at your forehead like Soviet heavy artillery at the Battle of Berlin. Just because you’re gay doesn’t mean you have to be happy.

Meh…I drove one of the floats in the parade again this year and had a blast. Everyone was super friendly and super happy. Thankfully it was reasonable weather instead of the 4000 degrees it was last year.
Next Year, perhaps you can convince the Pope to be in the parade, he’s now said it’s kosher to be gay, but you’ve got to be celibate. Sort of like raising a pig, but you’re not allowed to eat bacon.
This new Pope needs a cool theme. But nothing will ever equal Pope Palpatine’s music.

SOHI99 – An election yes but its held by the Imperial & Sovereign Court group, a group that started in gay communities as a fundraising effort but the Halifax/Maritime court takes thing a bit too far. It’s a bunch of people who need to dress up in royal-like costumes, hold ridiculous coronation events (at great expense no doubt), give themselves stupid titles and some, like the current emperor, think their shit doesn’t stink. The elections are open to anyone in the region but many in the gay community don’t participate because we are fed up with the drama and hassles that come when associated with ISCANS (google ’em), their people and their events.
That is just fucked up. Like really… fuckin’ stupid. Emperor, imperial and sovereign court. Stupid shits.
