Victoria Day weekend will be one we will never forget. My son had a motorcycle accident while biking with me and his dad on highway #14 between Chester & Windsor. I do not know the names of the people in the neighbourhood, but I wish to extend a sincere “thank you” fom this biking family. We would have been devastated without your assistance.
We also wish to extend this letter of thanks to the emergency staff at the Bridgewater hospital, to the wonderful EMT’s who transported us there, to the Life Flight EMT’s & pilot who delivered our precious cargo to halifax and last but not least, the emergency staff at the QE and all the amazing staff on the ward. You don’t know how you all affected us. Thank you all. —The Biking MacBeans

Dear Biking MacBeans,
I was one of the pilots that night. Thank you very much for the kind words! Your thoughtful letter is posted on the fridge here at the LifeFlight hanger.
While we don’t enjoy having to respond to calls such as yours, we are always thrilled to hear when our “precious cargo” is on the road to recovery! Send him our best!

As a newbie biker, I’d like to say that I’m glad your son is going to be ok, MacBeans. I can’t imagine the rollercoaster of emotions you and your family were experiencing on that day. All the best to you and your son for a full and speedy recovery.
To Shawn, I’d like to say a big thank you as well. You and your EMT team probably have one of the most stress filled and, at times, most heartbreaking jobs there is, but at the same time, probably one of the most rewarding jobs too. Your prompt and professional response help to save hundreds of lives each year and for that, “Thank-you” just doesn’t seem to say enough. As a rider, I hope that I never have to call upon your services, but it’s sure a hell of a lot more reassuring knowing that you and all the other first responders are out there, should I ever need to. Tremendous respect to you, and thank you!
Thanks avast0! We are certainly proud to serve the province. Ride safe everyone!
