I really don’t think mine is a bitch but more of a question.why do celebrities, sports stars, models, and etc. make so much money? Now I know how they make their millions but why do they get these millions?what is it about them that they should rec

Celebrity worship has become the new religion. Professional athletes and actors/actresses are only entertainers and there is nothing that justifies their outrageous salaries or their warped sense of entitlement.A hundred people could have shelter and food on what Paris Hilton blows on an evening out. That’s what sickens me.
Until people start paying $150 to watch the trash man throw your garbage in the truck this is how it goes. Economics will determine what people get paid and people will pay big $$$ to watch the 7’8″ guy shoot hoops.I understand your sentiment but just imagine how pissed off you would be if the big fat cop who can’t get out of his car to stop a crime was getting paid $5 million per year on a 5 year contract.
You have to understand it’s “us” that make celebrities the celebrities. Who buys the People, Star, Life and Style magazines? We do…at close to 5 bucks a pop. It’s a proven fact that “we” society are addicted to watching movie stars, knowing their every move, buying what they promote. “We” are willing to pay 10 bucks a head to go and see the new Jennifer Anniston movie, to pay 100 bucks to get her new hairstyle, to pimp out our car like Fast and the Furious. This is why celebrities are so rich…we make them rich!!!!!
If we keep watching them, they will keep making them. Case in point, there’s a few fairly major wars on, peak oil may be becoming a reality, the christian right has a direct line to the white house and Brittany shaving her inflated head is international news instead.We deserve what we get.
I wouldn’t even wrap fish with those fucking glossy mags – all fluff, no substance. Why are people fascinated with these morons? Maybe because they have no lives of their own???
I suspect it’s the whole idea of “living vicariously”. People wish their lives were interesting (and usually, they aren’t), so they elevate others to the status of “celebrity” and imagine how much better their lives would be if they could be like their idols. Despite all the problems that famous people have, people always believe they’d rather be in that position than slog through the normal working day crap.*shrug*

There’s a price to pay when your whole life becomes public domain…although I agree that they are disgustingly overpaid, while the person who cleans my septic tank, takes away my garbage, or whatever gross and/or hazardous thing I can think of, barely makes a decent living.
