Not really, but it makes them feel alienated and stupid. At least for me…
If you are adressing a first nations person, everyone else is fair game in my opinion?,…why?
I agree with Gustov. I call my boss Chief all the time. However to call a First Nations person “chief” could be considered derogatory.
It’s perceived as derogatory if you say it to a First Nation/Aboriginal. And its not the smartest idea to say it to them either.
I like being called ‘Pharaoh’ myself.
Is NGF Egyptian? That’s cool. I guess I wouldn’t mind She-Leprechaun.
not egyptian; i just think it sounds cool 😉
Jeeze, the guys at work call me Chief and Coach all the time and I kinda take it as a compliment, even though I’m not their boss. Might be because I’m the oldest employee there. I like it better than Big Mama, fer sure.
may not be derogatory, however i doubt very many first nation individuals would appreciate it. unless of course they happen to be the big cheese at a fire station.
Yes, especially when he is a Grand Chief.
or she!
First Nations people = racist
Anybody else = no problem
