Why do some women in HRM feel the need to describe themselves as looking better than they actually are? Fuck, I met a woman online who stated she was an attractive 25-year-old woman, and we met for coffee. I felt complete and utter disappointment the moment I saw her. She wasn’t nearly as attractive as I had expected or hoped. She looked more like *35* not 25! Her body was blah, her face was blah. Just fucking average, even a bit funny-looking! I’m not that picky but am I not entitled to a pretty face and a womanly body? I gave the coffee date a chance but she had no social skills at all. She was completely fucking awkward! Needless to say, I did not meet with her again, and I pretended to type her number in my phone when she gave me it. Ha Ha. Thanks for wasting my time! You suck!

  1. Ah, I’ll say it again. It’s the internet. NOTHING is guaranteed. Hate to burst your bubble but for all you know you could be setting yourself up with a woolly potbellied sketchball. Get out into the real world and maybe you’ll get somewhere.

IMO…online personals are about as honest and valid as UK lottery e-mails.

  2. Never done the online personal thing myself, don’t know if I’d be comfortable with it, and would probably be socially awkward myself meeting someone from online for the first time. OP I hope you took a long hard look at yourself in the mirror before making that bitch.

  3. Guys like this probably have to take a short and flaccid look at themselves in the mirror.

  4. So does this mean you’ll be labeling your personal ads with “shallow dickless asshole”, OP?

  5. I do the online thing (Tired of being single) and have a met a few women in person. They looked better than advertised and seemed like cool chicks. Get a picture (More than one, ask for the most recent, hell get her to go on webcam), get her on the phone and try to get to know her before you meet. Otherwise, you’re setting yourself up for situations like the one you described.

The internet clearly isn’t a 100% full proof method of meeting cool people but if you do it right it’s better than the bars, IMO.

  6. hey douche…. they’ll never be as attractive as you hope…
especially if they’re resorting to online personals.

  7. This guy probably cries and masturbates himself to sleep each night… so when he gets even the slightest chance to get the real deal, it’s obtained a really desperate meaning to him.

  8. This made me think about one of the guys in my office a few years back – looked like a hippie Don Knotts, right down to his too-short plaid golf pants – well, he wanted perfection in his women – tall, blonde and, of course, gorgerous. My old boss listened to him, nodded, then looked him square in the eye before delivering his infamous line: “Have you looked in a fucking mirror lately??” That pretty much sums up my opinion regarding Mr. Shallow here.

  9. damn firefox and it’s caching…
I wanted to be right under fever.

oh well… being under TTFN ain’t so bad.

    “that’s what she said”
    paaa zing…

  10. Yeah…… the internet dating scene is scary! I tried it once and it ened in crazy drama (not on my part) but enouph to have scared me off.

What ever happend to meeting someone in the grocery store?

  11. I gotta agree with dgaf. I did the online thing, and now have a fantastic boyfriend – but boy, did a lot of creepers hound me first. You gotta talk to them, send some pics back and forth, and then decide if it’s worth meeting.

Plus OP, people are always awkward on the first date, and chances are if you meet the super attractive girl you’re looking for, she’s probably either an airhead or she’s smart enough to know you’re a shallow loser.

  12. Dear Mr In search of something better,
I’ve been seriously thinking about trying online dating because, although I have no trouble meeting men – I can’t seem to meet the “right one”. Thank you for making my decision so much easier – I’ll take my chance in day to day life instead of risking coming into contact with as dick like yourself.

PS: Just cause your mother says your handsome – doesn’t mean you really are

  13. Its a good thing I’m gorgeous and dynamic and have women checking me out in drug stores and news stands.

  14. I don’t really understand the need to find someone to date anyway. IMO if you can’t find someone that is traveling the same path as you, than go it alone. I have absolutely no desire to date right now. If I met someone that it just seemed to “click” and work with, I wouldn’t not date them but I don’t know, I just see so many (not referring to anyone here) people that are so desperate to find someone to love/love them that they settle for someone who makes them miserable. I don’t get it myself, and I’m not saying you don’t have to make sacrifices in relationships, just wouldn’t a relationship be better if it wasn’t forced by too people “looking for love”and rather that it was formed from two people who were traveling the same path in life…hard to explain, but what odds, I just don’t get it that’s all and don’t see anything wrong with not finding a significant other.

  15. That sounds like loser talk to me Fallingangels!

Just kidding man, I totally agree. Some people really do have that ‘need’ to be with someone all the time. You just see them go from one bad relationship to another and wonder why they can’t just be single and wait for something to come along? You’ll never meet Mrs/Mr Right if your too busy dating losers you meet online!

  16. Hey, madmom, just a warning. I would be really careful about putting information about your daughter out on the internet. Although probably not a big deal, you never know what creepo’s are out there in internet land and as of right now, someone could have the name of your kid and a pretty good location of where you live. Just saying.

  17. hmm..for some reason that last comment didn’t go where it was meant to..weird anyway ignore that one.

  18. NGF doesn’t even KNOW womenz are checking him out unless I TELL him they are ffs.

He knows when guys are though. He’s pretty popular with the menz. No Joke.

  19. Nevermind, I think it’s this rush people get from drama that edges that kind of thing on. I can see how it can be an adrenaline rush, I would just rather do something like say jump out of a plane or something to get that same rush. But that’s just me.

  20. whats wrong with this bitch? the chick had it coming…. for real. you’re just setting yourself up for failure if you lie about you looks on an online dating site… i peaked on plenty-o-fish once and the first “ad” i saw was “if youre not a 10 dont bother” so there you go… you bitchers are just angsty cuz you’ve all been burned by online dating tsk tsk

  21. You people are harsh.

The fact of the situation is the bitch (the person he met) represented herself as “25”, if she’s a day over 30 this is a legit bitch (in the Coast’s sense of the word).

Appearances are relative, so he can’t really complain about that part. But seriously, we all know theres pretty and then theres fugly.

Shallow eh? So all you folks are ok with your ugly partners, right? Oh, whats that? You’re lifemates aren’t ugly? Now who’s shallow?

  22. 1fallingangels1 – I totally agree with what you’re saying – But sometimes people want company and don’t want to wait around to meet someone on their path – I’ve always believed that everything happens for a reason and you’ll meet someone when you least expect it – and that never look for someone to “complete you” love is about 2 whole individuals – but sometimes you realize that you’re not going to meet Mr./Mrs right going from the couch to the kitchen – and when you don’t go to places that singles hang out – well that just leaves the work place or a chance run-in at a store, restaurant, ect… And how many people have the balls to go up to a stranger (sober) and ask them for their number – and why would I give me number to a stranger based on looks alone. My life is busy – with school, work, LM, – so sometimes you have to take fate in your own hands – ” Destiny is no matter of chance. It is a matter of choice. It is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved” (Quote of the day) – Just wanted to let you know the other way of thinking – But I REALLY love your way of thinking, life would be great if we all thought that way and had that kind of patience.

  23. Cranky – you`re right it`s a legitimate bitch. People shouldn`t lie about what they look like or age or anything else, especially if they plan on meeting the person eventually. My problem with this `Bitch` is that the dude writing it has the nerve to label the bitch (A little more Honesty in Personal ads)- but then says he pretended to put her number in his phone..ha ha. Well don`t ask for honesty if you`re not honest enough to be a man and say I`m sorry but this won`t work,….you want honesty – start with being honest. Everyone on this site seems to be pretty f`n honest all the time when anonymity is involved, well let`s see a little more in real life .

  24. Don’t give up hope OP, with your fabulous personality I’m sure there is someone out there for you! Women love a guy with a sense of entitlement.

  25. The phone number part was douchie, indeed, but was besides the point as far as I’m concerned.

  26. Real Chick, saying I have patience would be a complete falsehood, I am definitely lacking in the patience area. I don’t mind if I don’t meet Mr. Right, so in that sense, it’s not a case of me patiently waiting around. If I did want someone, which maybe down the road I will, I donno, but if I did, than I’m sure I would try and take “fate into my own hands”.

  27. Maybe the guy should start listening to his brain instead of his depressed little sausage. A chastity belt might help.

  28. Uh, well you don’t have to use dating sites as a blind date hookup spot. You can ask for a full picture of them but expect to give one in return. I’m yet to encounter someone who refuses to share a photo. I don’t meet up expecting the worst like I would for a blind date, rather I exchange photos and e-mails so I can start to create an image of whom I’m speaking too. I know where you’re coming from about the lying on their profile. I don’t really understand it cause when the truth comes out even if it’s a small thing I wonder what else they may be hiding, it leaves me with a bad impression. As for the phone number action, what goes around comes around. You can save your date and yourself the disappointment if you do a little more work upfront before you meet, and that’s all up to you.
Real Chick, if you’re not desperate, you can weed out the undesirable pretty quick. plus you’ll meet dicks in your day to day search as well. It’s different but a good alternative to other methods. IMO.

  29. Not Fish people… not like Aquaman or anything.

    People who act fishy.
AND not fish mongers…. don’t fucking dare complain about them. I rely on fish mongers for decent fucking product these days.

anyone can vac pack a fish…. but to cut/fillet and sell product consistently…
    kudos from me.

  30. nor the traditional “smells like fish” thing.
    never crossed my mind…..
    until now, you gross person.

  31. Are you that desperate to get laid that you have to peruse the Net for your next screw??? You must be hideous!
