I’m in Toronto. Stuck here for two years. All I want to do is come home. I feel like an anonymous ant in a city that is impossible to know like Halifax. I want to complain about the Macdonald bridge closures. I want to have ridiculous debates about donairs. I want to take a ferry to work instead of a subway of zombies. Some people may want to get lost in this haze of drones. I want to come home. —ConcreteJungleBlues

Take a trip to the Hot Box Cafe on Augusta. It’ll make The Big Smoke more tolerable.
Wow! This board is dying, fast…
Just take the plunge. Toronto’s great on a lot of levels, but I’ve never understood why some Haligonians look at it as some kind of promised land. It has higher unemployment, lower average incomes, hellish commuting, ridiculous housing prices, and an enormous ring of suburban sprawl that makes Sackville/Tantallon/etc look downright charming.
It IS fun as shit. But then, so is Halifax when you know the right people.
Take the plunge.
I agree with OP, toronto sucks.
Find your fun! It is to be had in toronto. I’ve lived in: Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Regina, Ottawa, Kingston, Toronto, Moncton, Fredericton, Charlottetown, St John’s and Halifax. These places are fun and dumb for their own reasons, but I have learned that you can always have fun wherever you may live.
Op, I feel your pain, I am forced to live in that shithole known as Toronto due to medical needs & inaccessibility of HRM/NOVA SCOTIA.
Currently stuck in Scarborough (think of North preston) its like Dartmouth is to Halifax, (I love Dartmouth so much its making me depressed just thinking about it)
TTC sucks, 2 hours to get to downtown Toronto (where the soup kitchens are) only 40% of ttc is wheelchair accessible ($141.75 for a METROPASS)
Yeah, it’s the most snotty, rude people in the friggin universe here..
