KD Lang plays the Metro in April. ticketsnow.com says 14 tickets available from $354 to $525 each.

They MUST be kidding.

  1. Holy shit on a shingle! As much as I like Lang’s music, I’d settle for a box of KD rather than fork over that kind of money for a ticket. I think some of these performers are going to have to face a harsh reality check soon, what with people having so little disposable income these days. What a fucking rip.

  2. I wonder what the cost of staffing, policing, renting and insuring the Metro has to do with this? Maybe the HRM-powers-that-be have helped push the price up more than they should be. Does KD Lang really charge $4 – $6 per MINUTE to perform? Nutz

  3. Yeah I agree with kay, I don’t think it’s the artists who are jacking up the price. OR at least, not Lang.

  4. Ticket Atlantic has plenty of tickets for sale. They range from $67-72. Why would anyone by tickets from a “broker” like ticketsnow.com, when there are still tickets available from the venue???

  5. Ticket Atlantic still has floor tickets, for fuck’s sake! For those who don’t know, Ticketsnow is the scalping division of TicketBastard.

  6. Ahhhh ticket broker. Mmmm rip off.

When I saw NKOTB back in sept (yes, I admit I flew to TO to see them, so suck it) tickets were $90 bucks after fees/taxes/whatever other surcharge, yet online ticket brokers were selling them for 500+ bucks for tickets and the show I went to wasn’t even sold out! There weren’t fantastic seats left, but they weren’t nose bleed either!

    Fucking scalpers.

  7. hmm. almost as bad as the barbara streisand bust when she was charging 2000 bucks per venue last year. you’d have to be on acid to pay for that shit at that price.

  8. you’d have to superglue my balls to a cannon and fire it from citadel hill at the stage to get me anywhere near a barbara streisand /kd lang/ NKOTB concert.

I’d seriously rather see a jingle-cats 6 hour non-stop christmas special live in concert. Or listen to hamster-dance on repeat while counting the number of vowels in the printed issue of the Coast.

  9. There are no bands/performers ( aside dead ones) I would want to see, for that much. For the dead ones, I’d pay that to fund bringing them back. I’ll stick to dvd’s and mp3s.

  10. PK, I used to love listening to NKOTB….
    when I was 8.

these days it seems like desperation is setting in or perhaps they’ve gone through their earlier fortunes and figured why not do it all over again.

  11. I should also note that we had a talent contest at camp that year. I recorded, taught to others, and performed every move (to-a-tee) one of their songs from a concert that was on tv, to the amusement of the rest of the campers.

We won… but a little part of me died that day.
    Oh, to be Jordan again….

So you may like them…. but I used to BE THEM.
    🙂

    I have issues.

  12. You mean she’s still around? I guess they’ll bring anyone out of the woodwork to play the MetroCentre in Halifax.
