I can understand that construction workers have to start early so that they can finish earlier and beat the heat, and so on. I usually get woken from construction around 7am or a little earlier, which is generally when construction starts, I believe…
But recently, they seem to start earlier and earlier. This morning, we were woken up to trucks, banging and the sound of moving heaving equipment around. This was at 5:15 in the morning. The sun wasn’t even up. I am pretty sure that there are laws in HRM that should prevent this from happening, such as
BY-LAW NUMBER N-200, RESPECTING NOISE.
Is there anything that can be done about this? —Please, Can I Have Some More ZZZZ’s

Email your councilor. Chances are, someone asked for an exemption on the noise bylaw so that construction could be completed in a timely manner. Oh, and call the company, I heard that one company was putting people up in motels because they were disrupting people’s sleep.
