Compare the furor and hatred directed towards nurses who went on strike leading to the cancellation of 100 surgeries. There were daily updates through the media, the CEO going on news shows. And of that 100, several were cancelled in areas where nurses had said they would not go on strike, but they cancelled them anyway. Well, we are now close to 500 procedures cancelled due to poor planning and poor crisis response from the higher ups, and nobody seems to be as upset. Consider this the next time the nurses are back down at the legislature fighting for YOU. —RN Ready to Vacate NS

NURSES’ BALLS
“Consider this the next time the nurses are back down at the legislature fighting for YOU” RN Ready to Vacate NS
The nurses sure have balls, the kind of things that hang between their legs and gives them courage.
Cheerio!
Really? There was something that could’ve been done differently? I believe they looked for the issue, found it, and are addressing it.
Sorry that the RNs didn’t get any operating room OT.
And it’s rescheduled, not permanently cancelled.
Rescheduled maybe, but wait times are already bad enough.
Surprised people aren’t dying waiting for a scalpel.
Oh wait, they are.
Sooooooooooo……….. actually not surprised then.
Yea, I mean, what should we do, have multiple backups for every piece of equipment the hospital uses? Health care already takes up 50% of our provincial budget. Maybe there was a know the life span of that equipment was coming to an end, but that’s about all you could have done to prevent this. Sounds like it wasn’t a known issue otherwise they would have diagnosed the problem faster (I hope).
That was an illegal strike they was caused directly by their actions. While this is “someones” fault, it seems more like its an issue of old equipment that needs replacing.
Ha, if it was up to me I would have cancelled 1000 operations.
Perhaps it’s because one was done on purpose.
I thought we dealt with you people…?! Get back to work and stop complaining!
People aren’t pissed off about 500 surgeries being cancelled in this case because there was no other alternative. You nurses chose to walk off the job illegally and had a choice in the matter. That’s why people are mad because by choosing to walk off the job you let people’s surgeries get held off unnecessarily when they probably waited a hell of a long time for a surgery date in the first place. If you can’t understand how these two situations are clearly different, then maybe you should go elsewhere because I certainly wouldn’t want an RN with no ability to think logically looking after me or anyone I love. buh-bye!
