This is to the jerk who embarrassed me in front of the entire bus today on the #17 at 11:30 from Spring Garden. You asshole! You know me. I’m on your bus on the days when I’m lucky enough to catch it. Usually I get to the intersection and you pull away. Anywho, that’s not the point. The point is I never had my bus pass signed this entire month, and neither have any of my friends. My pass is the only one you inspect, like I’m a common counterfitter. WTF? The reason I don’t have my pass signed, asshole is because I’ve got too much else on my mind. Signing the bus pass is the last thing I’m thinking about in the run of a day, so YEAH. I hadn’t gotten around to it yet. Next time you speak like that to me in front of the entire bus, I’m going to flip. A signature is not that big of a deal, especially when I have lots of other cards proving who I am, and my Student ID has a fucking picture on it, you douchebag

#17? More like last place!

  1. The 17 and the 18 are the WORST routes for being there early and then parking their asses at another stop to make up for the time…I have lost count on HOW many times I have missed one of these routes because of this problem. And I say the next time you’re on the bus, get the number of the bus and the time you are on it and complain. It might not help but it might make you feel a little better about said douchebag!!It’s hard to express it on the bus because you then face the threat of getting tossed off and missing class!!

  2. Could some explain to me why the bus drivers care so much if your bus pass is signed? I mean, I could sign Cookie Monster and they wouldn’t know the fucking difference, so what’s the point?

  3. If you sign it Cookie Monster, and the driver asks you for ID and it doesn’t say Cookie Monster, it is FRAUD. Your lucky he didn’t take your pass/ or at least made you sign it there and then. The pass is for individuals and not parties. So say you sign it, and someone robs you, they can’t use your pass. It becomes of no value to anyone but you. There is logic to the madness, hope you understand. And maybe apologize to the driver for being a dumbass.

  4. OK Renegade, 1st I’m not the OP, so chill. I was just asking a question because I, personally, have never been asked to sign my bus pass or have had a driver inspect it. It just seems frivolous for them to make such a big deal when the chances of them taking your bus pass and inspecting it, then asking for ID to confirm are few and far between. It seems to me that the only time the bus driver makes a big deal out of it is when they’re cranky and just want to someone to rag on. Again, I’ve NEVER had this happen to me and have been taking the bus to and from work everyday for the last four years.

  5. You know what if you can’t sign your bus pass for whatever reason, you need to slow-the-fuck down. Get your shit in a pile and pull yourself together. Nobody wants to wait for a bus, but if you need to be on that bus get there earlier. You know the bus passes the stop you get on at earlier than the scheduled time, easy show up earlier. Pain in the ass, but Suck it up Princess. People need to realize that life not evolve or revolve around them. Life is not perfect and a lot of things suck but you need to adapt. That is all that is to it.

  6. Are you sure it’s me that needs to chill? Read the front and back of your pass it should say something about signing it. I don’t have one here to confirm so please look carefully. Having your pass inspected once in four years isn’t bad he just doing his job. Calling him a jerk and a douchbag, is uncalled for. Here is a link to Police Reports http://www.halifaxnewsnet.ca/index.cfm?sid=184784&sc=608 Please take the time to look. He may have been in a bad mood, but you weren’t in your best either. Hope you have a nice day. ps i don’t know what OP is.

  7. My bad, everybody is allowed to be a dumbass at times. Hope you got your answer in the mist of it all.

  8. Scott…why then on earth are there bus schedules if we should just adapt to the driver showing up when ever he feels like it…and what about that 1 day he shows up on time???? Then what’s your advice, show up on time….Jesus are we supposed to know how the driver feels that day and use our Metro transit E S FUKING P???

  9. Welcome to the wonderful world of Metro Transit, where we don’t care because we don’t have to. But we’re proud to be union men!!!

  10. Okay, time for less flaming and bad attempts at trolling the union, and more rational explanation.First, I recommend evryone who has a pass sign it, and not just because of a driver. If that pass should go missing, and believe me, many do, would you not want to have a chance of it being returned to you before you shell out another $60 (if that’s even possible, it happened to a friend of mine that she was too late in the month to buy another pass). Even if you sign it “Cookie Monster”, at least there’s something on the pass you can use to get it back. If a driver is hassling you about it other than to remind you to sign it politely, a call to 490-4000 may be in order. There’s also the issue of fraudulent passes. A signed pass looks a lot less suspicious than an unsigned one.As far as those routes being early at times, it’s due to the amount of time given to get between certain timepoints. Using the 18 as an example, there is a large cushion of time for the bus to get from the Mount to the corner of Young and Windsor (where it almost always has to wait). The driver would have to travel much slower than the speed limit to adhere to the schedule in that corridor. During rush hour when the Windsor Exchange is packed with cars, this is just the right amount of time. Any other time, not so much. The 17 isn’t as bad as the 18, but it too has spots where early is inevitable. As long as it doesn’t leave those schedule points early, it’s golden. Thus, use the timepoint before your location as a guide, not the one after. I used to live on the 51 near the bridge where I learned early on that I needed to be closer to the P.M.B./Kilkee time than the bridge time, even if the bridge was closer to me (the 51 is another “slow” route) if I wanted to catch the 51 to the bridge. This should cut down on the number of times you see the rear of the bus pulling away.Hope this helps. If you think you can do better than the current drivers, I’m told they’re hiring right now. I’m looking in the direction of a certain union “hater”.

  11. Dear Plastic Driver Guy- thank you for the union comment. I was about to make one myself but yours was much more articulate than “Fuck off with the union hating”That drives me nutso.

  12. “The reason I don’t have my pass signed, asshole is because I’ve got too much else on my mind.”ha, ha, ha,…..poor baby your life is such a tizzy that wittle you can’t find the time to sign a bus pass…..poor, poor BABY!!!!!!

  13. Excuse me, class lets me out at noon, and not a moment before. It’s not just once or twice that this bus has pulled away, but ti’s every fucking time I get to the intersection. I have a student pass, so not just everyone can use it, you know? You have to have a student ID to even get on the bus. My student ID has a picture on it, and I keep it in the plastic cover with the pass. I’m sick of bus drivers who feel they nee to pick on others just to make themselves feel better. He was a total asshole about it. Didn’t even ask for it, just stuck out his hand and grabbed it out of mine, then made a big show, sitting in his seat, checking it, like I’d commited forgery or something. Yeah, it’s eal. No, I wont sign it. The bus pass is the last thing on my mind. Oh! I offered to sign it for the douche, and asked for a pen and what I got was “Well, it’s the 28th now, so you don’t need to worry about it.” and he handed it back to me with a glare. He is just out to cause problems, I tell you! BTW, I am the OP.

  14. Just sign the fucking pass it takes like 3 seconds. You’re creating all this fuss over nothng. The pass is the last thing on your mind, you just don’t have time in your day for the pass, yeah fucking right? 3 Seconds? In the time you spent posting this bitch and replying to it you could have signed 500 passes.

  15. I don’t think the issue is the OP not having time to sign the pass. She forgot to sign the pass. Big deal. The issue here is the driver being an ass about it. Why did that driver have to make a big production out of it? I’ll tell you why. Because politely reminding the passenger to sign her bus pass would not have made him feel important and powerful. What that driver did is equivalent to a teacher waving a kid’s unfinished homework around to make an example of him to the rest of the class.

  16. Had the ID or bus pass been signed the bus drivers tirade would have been nipped on the bud. He’d have no chance to be an ass and we would be reading a different bitch.

  17. Sign the fucking pass. I suppose you would attack a store clerk for calling you on an unsigned visa card. Perhaps you could call a police officer an ass if you failed to sign your drivers license….just sign the pass and shut the fuck up.

  18. I think some of you are missing the point to focus on the fact that the pass wasn’t signed. If the driver had said, “miss, did you realize that you forgot to sign your bus pass?”, then she probably wouldn’t have written this bitch. I don’t think the bus driver handled it like that, though. It sounds like he was engaging in a little gratuitous power tripping.

  19. If you have a student pass then you are SUPPOSED to have it signed WITH your school ID to qualify for the use of the pass to justify the discount of that pass. If you failed then you are assumed to have lifted the pass and are committing fraud. Did you have a student or a normal bus pass. You know why you were singled out? You were late, so you cost him time, he cost you time. If you know your bus leaves at 12:01 and you leave at 12:00 either ask your prof for 5mins heads up time or take another bus. It’s not rocket surgery…

  20. Why do people make something so little to be such a hassle? You obviously had enough time and enough on your mind toactually go to a place where passes are purchased. Youobviously have a pen handy if you claim to be a student. Youcould have signed it at the counter just as you purchased the pass.Sure, you may get a way with not signing it for a while, butsomebody will eventually take notice and act upon it.I’ve cashed cheques with “void” pieces of identification, andgot away with it. (I normally take cash payments, so Iwouldn’t have to deal that crap). Then somebody lookedat my identification, and noticed that it was not my currentaddress at the time. (I move often). My Social Insurancecard was the only valid piece of identification that I hadwith me. Even though my social insurance number wason the cheque, and all of my other information on my i.d.was valid. I needed a second piece, because the cheque and i.d. had different addresses, and I got away with itbefore. Now, I would be someone who would have a big hassle, because I would have to go to the DMV,where they would place a sticker on my card, or I couldget a new card. The waiting time at the office could beup to two hours. That is something to bitch about. Not amere three seconds to sign a bus pass.
