To a certain “fast paced” bus to Sackville owned by a certain transit company… WHY THE FUCK is the 9am bus ALWAYS late to Halifax?? How come the bus just before you, the 8:50 TO Halifax is always on time, yet you are always late. You are supposed to be at the terminal by 8:53. You show up at 9:15 or 9:10. How is it that the 8:50 departure bus is always on time and they went through all of the same traffic that you did. Is this a personal problem you have with Sackville? Or does your bus just conveniently get stuck in traffic every day since the first of October and none of the others are ever late. I see them depart on time every day. I should not have to change what bus I take just because you are constantly late. I also love how when I call your management to ask for an explanation as to why it’s only the 9am bus that shows up late, I am promised a call back within 2-3 business days and I get no call backs. —Wish I Was Astroboy

a shirtless, flying boy in a speedo?
People wish some crazy shit….
I find my route shows up earlier or later depending solely on the driver.
Some choose to take flowing traffic lanes and then only switch to the outside lane that’s at a stand still only at the last moment (to catch a stop or turn right). I think that’s against policy but makes for WAY better travel.
I heard from a driver that decided to wait 5 lights worth of crawling outer lane traffic that if he were in an accident in the (empty) inner lane, metro’s bus insurance wouldn’t cover him…. and so we waited…. and waited…. and waited.
I love astroboy!
zZz- I think op was saying astroboy because he can fly, not because he’s shirtless.
I agree with the post because I take the same bus as you do and it’s a piss off. I am just waiting for someone to ask the bus driver to explain the hold up. You’re right it is always that one bus. Very frustrating. legit post. I concur
Explain to me exactly why you can’t just get there at 8:50 & avoid the headache ?
Good point, more
Can’t speak for op, but I know I like the 9am link as if it is on time like every other bus before it, it works perfectly with my schedule at work. And if they offer a service for 9am, it should run as per the schedule. I should not have to change my schedule to meet with this extremely annoying lack of schedule adherance
Why should OP have to arrive earlier to “avoid the headache” ? The driver should be able to follow his schedule, and people shouldn’t HAVE to change thiers because someone else isn’t able to do thier (overpaid) job properly. You obviously don’t take the bus, More.
Why wouldn’t he go with the Rocketeer then?
leather jack, cool helmet…

I think he’s a pedophile.
Legit bitch but the point more made is also. In an ideal world you should not have to get the earlier bus. We don’t live in an ideal world tough and ten minutes, to me, does not seem like such as big an inconvenience as constantly being 15-20 minutes late. Perhaps if everyone were to boycott that particular bus they would start running it on time?
poop you are right !
I don’t take the bus.
I could use the excuse that I live out past Elmsdale & ther’ ain’t no buses out here (& I pray to the FSM everyday ther’ nev’r will be ! ! !)
But the real reason I don’t take the bus is because I can afford not to. When I lived in Halifax, I never took the bus, I drove my damn truck everywhere … although I occassionally parked it on the darkside & took the ferry, across the toilet aka the harbour. It wasn’t often & only in nice weather when I went over to drink too much & check out whatever boardwalk attraction , like tall ships or buskers was goin’ on. I figured the ferry boat ride wasn’t much more than bridge fare & I didn’t have ta get my quarter into that little bloody basket, which I found hard to hit at 50 kms an hour with a dozen beers in me on the way back! & I enjoyed the ride/view from the upper deck of the boat.
How responsible of you, More…
saving us Haligonians by taking the ferry across before hit-and-running over Dartmouthians.
THat’s me zed
Always thinking about the handicapped & how to look out for them ~;p
I looked into this, and there is an explanation. The 8:50 link bus also leaves at 7:40, giving it 70 minutes to do the round trip. 9:00 trip also leaves at 8:00, only giving it 60 minutes to do the round trip in similar traffic. By the time the next bus comes along, traffic has lessened and it’s back on track. That’s likely why the 9:00 bus is always late.
I’m with More, take the 8:50 bus instead.
they operate on martian standard time o.p.
Any weekday #10 at SMU is always late too (though they’re on the dot weekends, for some reason). I GET that traffic is bad, I GET that people are trying to get places, but when I see you hang at the previous bus stop an extra 30 seconds I can only think you don’t care we’re all going to be late.
Seriously, if a bus driver said ‘please come on quick, have your tickets/passes ready, I need to catch up’ then I would if it meant I’d get to work on time.
And the year-long wait at Barrington st. Why??
It’s like the moment they notice they’re running late, they’re like ‘eff it’ and don’t even try to make it.
