I grew up in a small town in Nova Scotia. My parents lived in the house I grew up in for 32 years and I have many beloved memories growing up there with my family. When my parents could no longer look after our turn of the century home, the house was sold to a lovely couple from Ontario who bought it for a Bed and Breakfast. They renovated the house back to its original glory with historic colors, hardwood floors, and antique furniture. While visiting my hometown this December, my boyfriend and I planned to stop into my old house and talk to the owners… we were welcomed and sat down to share a glass of wine. We went on a tour of the house, and after entering my old bedroom, he got down on one knee and proposed. I was blown away that he knew this was the perfect place to ask me. I still get teary when I think of it.

I’m very glad you finally did say YES! Part II of the story is that when I did get down on one knee and asked for her hand in marriage, she immediately took the ring and placed it on the bed and hugged me saying, “Thank you thank you, I love you so much”. So, I asked her again for a yes or a no answer. She replied joyfully that “You’ve made me the happiest person in the world and I love you so much!” Well, still not getting a yes or a no I asked Lynn again, “Is that a yes or a no? I kinda need an answer!”
After realizing that she still hadn’t said yes or no, we both laughed when she did say yes. So, yes indeed, I am very glad that you did finally say YES!
