Hi! So I’ve been on the search for a wedding venue for a little while, and having no luck (well, no luck in terms of find a budget-friendly venue that is!) There are some gorgeous ones, but WAY out of our league price-wise.. We’re looking for even just a beautiful ceremony space, not too costly, and thinking of renting a hall/incorporating a lot of DIY elements for our reception. Any help would be greatly appreciated! 🙂 —Nicole

Hey Nicole,
I’m one of the editors of The Coast’s Halifax Weddings mag. I’m not sure of exact prices, but have seen really lovely DIY weddings at Lake Banook boat club, Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, Saint Mary’s Boat Club and the Via Rail station (ceremony only).
Hi Nicole,
I’m not too sure on pricing, or other criteria you might have (such as “close to downtown”, or “on the water”…) – but here are a few to tack onto Allison’s list…
“Quaint” & “DIY”:
Hubbards Barn
St. Margaret’s Bay Yacht Club
Saraguay House (RNSYS)
Hidden (or not so hidden) gems:
Shining Waters Marina
Halifax Club
Point Pleasant Park (for ceremony)
We’ve been to most and have more… feel free to email or call if you like… We’d be happy to help. 🙂
Good luck!
Hi Nicole,
My husband I shoot a lot of weddings, of those that were quaint, this past August, we shot one at the Lowden House in Canning, NS, http://www.lowdenhousefarm.com
Apparently it is very affordable, it has an amazing barn and the house is really big and can accommodate the family, plus is it really gorgeous for getting ready shots….
I hope this helps. Please send us a note if you want to see any of the photos from the wedding there.
Good luck in your search!
Nicole & Teddy
And someone on our Facebook page just suggested the Italian Cultural Centre, too!
We’re doing our reception at a house in Lower Sackville. Crazy beautiful. Rented it for a week. http://www.homeaway.ca/cottage-rental/p346…
