Figure Skating

The first place you’ll want to inquire about how to throw a triple lutz is the Halifax Skating Club at Centennial Arena. Founded in 1862, the club now has more than 200 members and offers a variety of programs for adults at all levels of skating. Unfortunately, the current programs are all full for this winter, but call them in early March to inquire about spring availabilities. In the meantime, brush up on your skating skills on the ice at the Canada Games Skating Oval on the Halifax Common. Public skating times are slotted seven days a week and free lessons are offered for adults on a drop-in basis some evenings and Saturdays. And the Dartmouth Sportsplex offers public and private skating lessons, or try the Halifax Forum for its figure skating lessons. Check out the HRM website for information on the many other arenas in the city.
