Amid the media churn around so many other bands from the west coast, Young and Sexy are largely overlooked in the rest of the country. It’s high time—the band’s been around 10 years and this is their fourth album—this be corrected. The Arc will win over those with only a vague notion of the band—anyone who appreciates imaginative and image-laden lyrics (care of Paul Pittman, vocals/guitar), male and female vocals (Lucy Brain) trading off and harmonizing, plus a big band sound (André Lagacé, guitar, Alex Brain, drums and Brent McDonald, bass) both powerful and nuanced. And only two years after Panic When You Find It!
