It’s likely you’ve never seen a horror film quite like Prey. Set in France’s remote countryside, four hunters set out to investigate the bizarre murders of various animals on their family’s estate. What they uncover is a biological disaster that has transformed a group of wild boars into flesh-eating monsters, turning the hunters into prey as they fight for their lives to escape the toxic landscape. Mixing Piranha with Cabin Fever, Blossier uses animatronic FX creations and sparse lighting to create tension in this environmental catastrophe thriller. The character development lacks throughout the film, but the picture accounts for it with enough gore to make Sam Raimi queasy.
