Hooray! Divorce Records‘ Obey Convention has announced their entire line-up, and it’s amazing. Friday, May 23 at the Bus Stop Theatre (6:30pm, free and all ages) is Aidan Baker, Torso, D/A A/D and a zine and art show. Later that night see Nadja, Shearing Pinx, Zachary Fairbrother and the Ra-Dawn Sun Cult with short films programmed by NSCAD graduate Stacey Ho (8pm, $7). The film portion of the night is slated to include clips from the legendary Winnipeg TV show, The Pollock and Pollock Gossip Show, videos featuring the music of Japanther (Punktree) and Be Bad (Battledick), The Cake, a short animated piece by Bethany Riordan-Butterworth and more. At Gus’ Pub that night, see the busy Shearing Pinx again with Be Bad, Special Noise, Attack Mode and Troy Richter (10:30pm, $6). Then drink a large coffee to prepare for Saturday, May 24th, which has Career Suicide, XEnvisionX, Genetic Angry, Criminal Intent and Last Laugh (The Pavilion, 6:30pm, $9, all ages) and Career Suicide plays again at Gus’ Pub that night with Die Brücke, The Hold and Mark Black (10:30pm, $7). Sunday, May 25 has a more relaxed vibe with a charming afternoon show at Lost and Found with Broken Deer, Jef Jef and Scribbler (4pm, free, all ages). Then you are free that night to sleep. In sum, this festival is wicked.
