According to the CAUT newletter, Nova Scotia College of Art and Design technical and educational resource personnel could walk off the job later this month, after 97 per cent of the union’s membership voted in a strike referendum ballot Dec. 2. Issues include salaries, health and safety issues and lack of benefits for sessionals who are laid off every summer.

My wee ears on the inside suggest that things aren’t going very well in negotiations, but I’m hoping for a Christmas miracle as I know this group (there’s 33 of them) works their asses off, the students need them, and picketing in winter ain’t fun at all.
