ILYBICD is a post-punk revival band heavily influenced by Joy Division. Unlike most of the repetitive shit the genre has been producing lately, this band is more original in its approach. They slide in odd dashes of shoegaze pop while injecting moments from one of the finest of new wave cult heroes, Talk Talk. The music is often sparse, with shimmering guitars locked into reverb and synths with a droning background quality. The bass throbs and drums punch as on Martin Hannet’s Factory-produced records. Blended together with the vocals mixed down to sound like an afterthought, this is certainly an original, interesting record.
