Deadpool as a character was ripe to receive his own video game; the brash, fourth wall-breaking, self-referential anti-hero is true to form with his constant quips. Though this crass humour may not hit with everyone, it’s what fans of the “merc with the mouth” is used to. Behind all this attitude lies a bland and generic hack and slash game that never delivers on the occasional moments of brilliance. High Moon tries to combine both Deadpool’s gun-toting side with a third person over-the-shoulder perspective, however the transition is clunky and simply doesn’t work. Combat is stale and repetitive, think Batman: Arkham City except much less enjoyable, and boss battles are mind-numbingly easy. Deadpool is a game that could offer you one enjoyable play through, if you like that kind of humour, but it’s not going to win any awards I can promise you that.
