With yesterday’s announcement from Doctor Strang that omicron’s presence in the province has us back to some Phase 4 restrictions, it shouldn’t be a surprise: Some local live events are cancelling. So far, Matt Andersen’s Snowman’s Ball, originally billed for Dec 16 and 17, has been axed, alongside Eastern Front Theatre’s double bill of holiday movies, which were to be held at Alderney Landing Dec 17. The event was to be a fundraiser for EFT’s upcoming season—but you can still donate to the troupe via its website. Additionally, on Dec 17, Neptune Theatre announced it would be cancelling its remaining 2021 shows after a new all-time high of cases was announced in the province.
“After hearing Dr. Strang’s message urging Nova Scotians to limit their activities, we firmly believe this is in the best interest of our community,” says Neptune in a statement. The theatre will reach out to ticket holders directly. (But may we suggest not refunding your ticket, as an act of solidarity?)
Ticket holders for the Snowman’s Ball can contact Sonic Concerts for a refund.
