Chantal Kreviazuk
Ghost Stories
(Sony BMG)
Seeing that the latest Chantal Kreviazuk record was produced by her hubby Raine Maida, one might conclude that this would be all kinds of suck—Kreviazuk has unleashed some of the most overwrought pop drivel in recent memory. But thanks to the unexpectedly light touch of Mr. Maida, Kreviazuk’s vocals are allowed to reach their full potential, no longer burdened by heavy-handed production. Her voice shines bright on tracks such as “Grow Up So Fast,” “Spoke in Tongues” and “Asylum.” Elements of Tori Amos, Joni Mitchell and even a hint of Kate Bush weave their way into Kreviazuk’s music. Ghost Stories is a surprisingly enjoyable listen.

ooooh, you ran in a *marathon*. Big fuckin deal. You do shit like that for yourself. No one was obligated to come and pat your sweaty ass after the race. What’d you want? A big hug and a “I’m sooo proud of you” at the finish line?? You’re border line looser and border line cry baby for saying pity shit like that.

I have to say this in reference to that. The big picture is that we are ultimately alone in life.Great for you that you have such a large family and can get together for gatherings.Think about this…there are some of us who don’t have parents due to deaths, or siblings. What you do have, embrace and be grateful instead of expecting more than what you think that you have already.
