2015 Halifax Jazz Festival first announcement!

Though we might have to wait until April for the full line up, The Halifax Jazz Festival (July 8-12) sure knows how to tease.

Today’s first artists announced are a diverse and rad bunch. 2014 Grammy nominee Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings will kick off the festival on the main stage at the Halifax waterfront on Wednesday July 8 with The Chronos Band.

tUnE-yArDs follow it up on Thursday, July 9 with their beautiful and bizarre sounds.

Juan de Marcos and The Afro Cuban Allstars perform Friday, July 10 with Adonis Puentes & the Voice of Cuba Orchestra featuring Pancho Amat.

Kenny Werner rounds out the festival with two concerts at the Peggy Corkum Music Room on Sunday, July 12.

Festival passes start at $95 and are on sale now at www.halifaxjazzfestival.ca/passes. Early bird tickets will be for sale to the public at 12pm March 6, Halifax Jazz Festival members may purchase tickets starting today online at www.halifaxjazzfestival.ca.
