After a few years of wanting to open a consignment shop for local brides, Marlene Kenley finally said “I do”.
“So many people that have dresses that are worn once, or not at all,” says Kenley, owner of Resto Urban Dining. “I had space here and always wanted to do it, so it just made sense.” Here is 1516 Bedford Highway, next door to her restaurant, where the Bedford Bridal Boutique—complete with all the mirrors and fitting rooms a bride needs— is slated to open on May 10.
Bedford Bridal will offer new-to-you gowns for brides, bridesmaids and mothers of the bride hoping to say yes to the dress and will help past-brides clear some closet space. Accessories and prom dresses will also be among the boutique's stock. And if you’re looking to knock more than one thing off your checklist, Kenley will also offer other wedding-related services like planning, consulting and catering.
