Hypocrites. I hate them.

The fundamentalists are the worst. Preaching family values while disowning your own for having their own views. Leaving a marriage because you want to without giving it a fair shake. Giving it the chance you preach to other people.

Preaching the love we should have for our neighbours while slamming “the world” and its people any chance you get. Hating homosexuality without learning about the person. Yeah, you’re good people.

Well I am happy to be free from it now and will work with my son to instill the fact that people have different views and that doesn’t mean they are bad people, just come from different places and have different lives. I can now live in an inclusive world and leave the exclusion behind.

I would rather someone be honest with themselves and the people around them, stop living by standards written thousands of years ago. Make you own decisions, you are more likely to support them and live by them that way. —Open Minds

  1. wow o.p., you must really dislike the catlicker church. but seriously tho, they are all hypocrites. they preach love and peace, and pray that their god thing kills everyone on the day of judgement, or send them to my daddu in the firey lakes of hades. but there s some hope, we just did and get buried or torched. and it won’t be long til they do the slow burn too, or so some would suggest.
back in the day, we used to have a bit more tolerence for a lot of things, but today, sheesh. be who you are, because you want to be that way, but never forget what you could be.

  2. ah, one was the philosoraptor wondering if when the pope dies is it a promotion or is he being fired….

  3. Being religious has got to be the most unpopular thing ever, especially in Hfx. I’m not religious myself but I feel sorry for them sometimes. Must be tough.

  4. I really have nothing against religion, it is a positive influence in the lives of many people. The extremists can get knotted though.

  5. i’m a presbiwhorian, myself. i worship in the church of the holy fuck, and have mass in the holy mackeral.

  6. Excellent Brendon. I always suspected a causal link between Sodomy and Nickleback but it’s nice to have empirical evidence, so as not to be mistaken for a raving paranoid loonball.
Happy Thursday to you, Good Sir. Rawk!

  7. trood.. that’s true of a lot of things…
poker’s a positive influence in many people’s lives. they get out and meet people, learn a lot about them in short time, hone their craft, enjoy themselves, make millions of dollars, can control their emotions and live lavishly…
and then there are the broke gambling addicts who’ll sell their left nut for a black chip to get back in the game.

  8. I don’t know how you got the impression that my birthday is today, but I appreciate the sentiment. I’ll try to remember it 8 months or so down the road. 😛

  9. I wished you a Happy Thursday – for posting a most excellent cartoon.
Anyway – treat yourself like it was your B-day, B-man.

  10. Haha thanks, Ivan. Unfortunately I don’t have the time this month to treat myself as if it were my birthday, what with the con and all. This badass suit of sci-fi armour isn’t going to make itself (unfortunately). 😛

  11. Why yes, I did, my good General. I’m hoping to make the suit of armor depicted in my avatar for Hal-Con (http://www.hal-con.com), which is fast approaching. Progress so far has been slow but steady.

  12. I’m going to miss not being on Barrington for Hal-Con this year. I always had fun doing up a window display on the Prince St. side. Cool costumes and lots of geeks, nerds, dweebs……….My Brothers >: (

  13. Come out on the Sunday, Ivanski. I’ll introduce you to my armour-wearing, beer-drinking friends. I think you’d like them. 😉

  14. Y’know what – we should have a mini-summit that Sunday and attend Hal-Con. See our lad Brendon in his natural environment and admire his badass suit of sci-fi armour.
    Who’s up for it?

  15. If people don’t feel like buying a day pass, the Bravo Papa downtown has been dubbed the “Hal-Contina” and would probably make an ideal meeting place.

  16. aaa, otay keptin, you youngsters these days. if it’s not star trek or zombies, i have no idea what’s going on

  17. I’m gonna guess he’s meaning that his dad has a mustache…
but even I’m not positive on that one.

Too bad I’ll be away on my b-day retreat.
