Why in the fuck is there NEVER!! any HPD with radar guns coming or going to Hfx in the construction zone between Kearney Lake and Hammond Plains Rd? You would think this is a no brainer DOUBLE FINE IN CONSTRUCTION ZONE, I travel this road several times a day at different times and I can assure you that they could make a small fortune in just one week. —Vader

In the last month I have had to go through that “detour” 4 times, It was daytime & the construction site had visible working people/machinery.
I slowed to 80 kms & was almost rear ended twice, have had people fly by me every time & have gotten the horn & the finger…while going through at 80 -85 kms.
I don’t have any idea why they bothered to put up signs, saying slow down…perhaps its a joke on those of us who actually don’t want to kill a construction worker & believe slowing down is the right thing to do.
Also I’ve noticed on 2 of the 4 occassions I wasn’t the only one to slow down, there were 2 of us & everyone else went by us like we were parked !
They’re all in Bayer’s Lake between the two Tim Hortons.
they’re too busy writing reports on the RCMP offing a drunk at Wagmatcook
how we’re complaining there aren’t enough tickets being given out…
I did not see this one coming.
Are people speeding through the construction zone when there are workers there? I don’t see that much, at all, actually…
BUT, in most places, no workers…no reduced speed…
why slow down if there’s no-one there working?
More speed traps, less speed traps, can’t we all just agree Speed was a great action film instead?
I could care less if the cops put up a speed trap.
I just want to be able to slow my vehicle down to the posted speed in a construction zone. I usually drive a couple of klicks over the posted limit, not enough to get noticed, but not under the limit on the highway, especially the twinned highways.
But speeding through a construction site is a really bad idea, you could easily kill someone working there, or kill yourself if a say boulder falls out on the road, a large slow piece of equipment pulls onto the road etc. So for me, its not a big deal to slow down to 80 kms for a minute & a half to get through the work area. I just would like to be able to do so, without a car or truck crawling up the ass end of my vehicle so far I can’t even see their headlights !
“All right, pop quiz. Airport, gunman with one hostage. He’s using her for cover; he’s almost to a plane. You’re a hundred feet away… Jack?
…
Shoot the hostage. “
nice…
More, for $65 get a rear-window black box camera that records to SD card in a continous 2 hour loop.
Edit yourself a “video of shame” and put it on Youtube.
In fact, if the law enforcement in this province was REALLY interested in safety, and not just income from fines…they’d prosecute based on video evidence from citizens (but they refuse to)…

That’s a good idea B.M.F.
I’ll have to see what’s out there, if I can find something made elsewhere than China, I’ll pay more for it. But I’d rather that than support that country’s business.
Hmm, hard to find much that ISN’T made over there these days…there are some resellers who sell similar things, but again they originate in China
There’s others that also record GPS and are g-force activated…but they cost about 3 bills…AND that gps data can work AGAINST you if you’re not careful!
Others have two lenses…one points forward (or back), and the other films you…
BTW…always wear your seatbelt!
