Why the fuck can’t I get a decent pizza in this province? Everywhere I go it’s thin, chewy cardboard crust, dry, undercooked, with SFA for toppings. Isn’t there a place that has nice, greasy, thick crust with lots of shit on it? —FatBastard

Your kitchen. As in make your own Dude:)
Obviously we haven’t been eating the same pizza.
aaah at sal’s they call that pizza by the pound…pizza hut? they put lots o lard in their pies
Don’t confine your pizza experience to Pizza Corner, or Pizza Hut. I’ve never had a problem with any of the local places with dry, cardboard crust. Or lack of toppings for that matter.
Alexandra’s on Queen St. Awesome!
me ma likes morrie east but kinda pricey?
If you’re mobile, try Anapolie Pizza in Cole harbour…right across from Fong’s…where you’ll also find some of the best Chinese around.
The only good pizza is a thin crust.
I second alexandra’s! Except I get mine from their Fairview location, but I’m sure it’s the same at both places.
They give you LOTS of cheese for starters — they don’t charge extra for cheddar and extra cheese is super cheap (can you tell I like cheese? heh), BUT their crust is amazing. I actually eat the entire crust of my pizza when I get it.
try ken’s seafood in fairview, they are better than sicillian or dominos.
Bo Gus, my homemade thincrust pizza is so thin it’s barely there…and the crispness is divine.
about 80% of pizza joints use pre-fab crusts that all taste the same; esp. if it is cheaper or a chain
Seriously…rent a car and go get some Anapolie Pizza in Cole Harbour.
Pizza Time in Woodside. Amazing, cheap, and quite different than most of the other pizzas I’ve tried around, and I’ve tested a lot of places. Definately hand made crusts, lots of toppings, not especially greasy, and the nicest guys you’ll ever meet.
Hunger have you tried Wong’s by McPhee Pontiac? Also Ronnie’s on Main St in Dartmouth is very good.
Two words. Extreme pizza.
All these people are dumb. Go to Peter’s Pizzaria at the corner of Victoria and Inglis at the end of Barrington and order the Peters special, medium pizza. I can honestly say that it is the most, and thickest amount of toppings I’ve seen in Canada. DO NOT get a slice, they make the individual slice for the drunken idiots with no taste buds left in their mouth. Do it.
I’ve always had good luck getting pizza from the Hungry Hut in Dartmouth.
VoR, every time I call there, they won’t even answer their phone!!
Anyway, I order my pizza from Alexandra’s in Highfield Park, and it’s excellent. The Canadian Classic is my favourite.
You want the best pizza you’ll have to go to Cape Breton. Napoli’s pizza in Sydney and Bianchini’s pizza on the Northside. Can’t EVER go home without stopping into one of those two joints for a large pep and cheese (t-minus 8 days til I can sink my teeth into some more…)
Fuck yeah, Napoli!!
I think op is from Chicago or used to their ultra-deep-dish-I-can-only-eat-one-slice-because-it’s-too-fucking-thick pizza.
Dude, that shit don’t fly here. we like toppings, not 3 inch crust.
Thin pizza in Halifax?? Since fucking when? Every pizza I’ve ordered in the last year all had ‘baby arm’ crusts (as in size of) which I have to rip off before consuming said slice.
Couldn’t agree more on the classic jennier, the garlic basteed crust is the best!
However as you can see OP, pizza taste is subjective, avoiding the 2 bigger pizza corner chains is a start. KOD ruined their pizza when they switched to pan pizza… morons…
TTFN, practising for when a real baby picks on ya?
watch it baby, I’ll rip your fucking arm off!
I CAN DO IT!

you’re going t have to make it your own damn self
Jonnoman: For Sydney food it’s all about Membertou Chicken. Best fried chicken ever!
Hunger: I’ev thought about tyring Anapolie pizza a few times but haven’t yet. I drive by it everyday, so I’ll have to give it a whirl some time.
And for the OP:
Euro Pizza just up from the Rotary is fantastic. A little pricey, but well worth it.
Papa Mario’s is good too.
Dimitri’s has wicked garlic fingers.
But shithawk has it right. Extreme Pizza has the best goddamn pizza I have ever had! The
BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza is to kill for!!
Can’t argue with that NW….. I worked at the MTCC for a brief period and would go to the Market for chicken on my lunchbreaks. I’m a lazy eater and prefer things without bones so it was usually popcorn chicken or chicken strips. I am sure the actual drumsticks and wings were better, but nonetheless….. mmmm mmmm… the CB first nations definitely know their chicken…. haha
Try Ted’s Pizza in Stellarton! My family swears by it!
Umm…avoid a certain place on Argle….they’re reputation for good pizza is only true if you are pissed loaded drunk of your mind without taste buds.
Thin crust all the way! that deep dish stuff is not for me.
Revana Pizza on Portland St in Dartmouth is good, and I just ate some tasty pizza from Salvatore’s…. yum. It was a bit pricey, but freakin’ good.
Yeah Revana Pizza on Portland St. Dartmouth is good. The Hungry Hut on Octerloney in Dartmouth is amazing, and for specialty restaurant pizzas, The Argyle has one of the best pizza chefs in the city I think.
I’m witht he thin crust crowd.
Unfortunately the best thin crust I’ve ever had, & I try pizza everywhere I go. The best hands down was in New York city. Unbelievabley good & I can’t get it as good doing it at home.
If you happened to get a good pizza “NL’s export” at that first place, you were lucky. I lived in that area about 8 years ago, & their pizza was hit & miss, with alot more misses than hits !
(Which means it usually SUCKED)
Honestly though, absolutely nothing compares to the delicious homemade pizza crust! I haven’t found a commercial pizza crust that even comes close to pizza perfection.
Peter’s Pizza in Halifax is AWESOME!!!
Burnside Pizza.
Oh I totally forgot about Ravana’s. Good pizza and lots of eye candy for the gay guys 🙂
Peter’s on Inglis knows how to bake up a good pie. The price is a little bit higher but the quality is worth it. Probably my favourite other than Roberts or Venus.
My issue with pizza is the crust. I strongly dislike the thin/browned crust that comes with pan pizza and much prefer a thicker, fluffier crust that’s ideal for dipping in a sauce or scooping up some toppings that have fallen on to the plate.
Pizza Time is the best, and has been voted so by the Coast a couple of times. AWESOME. Everyone I reccomend it to always comes back to me thanking me for the reccomendation. I haven’t had Anapoilie in at least a decade, but maybe I’ll try tonight.
