I am exhausted with the never ending ineptitude of HRSB and their inclement weather notification system?!? Are their servers outside? Is that it? Is that why they don’t work in inclement weather? This is absurd. The website dies every morning there is any amount of snow on the ground. The “hotline” returns a fast busy. The Herald stated ALL HRM schools are closed except the High Schools and their feeder schools?!? Wait, what? And now I am at work, the kids have been in school for over an hour and I receive an apology email and a series of “test” emails flood my inbox. Did they send out the 7 test messages last snow day to dupe us into thinking it was being worked on? —Rage Against the Machine

Well the city had to do something with all that Go-Time software, didn’t they. Or would you be happier if they spent a hockeysock full of money on a NEW system that doesn’t work worth bugsnot?
Huh?
i’m not even gonna touch this one, no fucking way.
You are too concerned with your circle of concern…all the things OUTSIDE of your control. Nobody controls the weather, except maybe God. Learn to focus on what is in your realm of control. It’s almost March…I’m sure the stoms are done now.
*storms.
(… Bit drunky)
everybody knows the russians control the weather
Is true, Painuchka, but only for erotic purposes.

The website “dies” because of all the demand on the server(s), which can be rectified by upgrading the server(s). The lines are busy because so many people are calling in. Theoretically they could rectify this by hiring/scheduling more people to work the phones during peak times, but I’m not sure if that’s feasible.
You should develop a ‘Snow Day’ App. Make some money while letting your kids enjoy a day off school for a change.
My daughter got a text message saying the school my grandson goes to closed an hour earlier. Needless to say when said young fella didn’t show up home, she panicked. She calls me and she leaves work heading for the school. I beat her there and voila kids and teachers on the playground. Turned out school wasn’t closed at all and he was having lunch. Way to go HRSB.
Oh and before heading to the school numerous calls were made which were answered by a computer, with no information. It’s time to get a live (hell even a dead) person to answered their damn phones.
All the schools in the Annapolis Valley closed yesterday and I have no idea why. We got 5 cm of snow. As far as HRM is concerned, just close em all if the weather’s bad. That way there’s no interpretation or guesswork.
There was no need to shut the schools down except maybe a need to have an extra day off since they didn’t have as many days off as last year.
Lazy person bitch.
Look at HRSB website, it has information about which primary schools feed into which Jr High and which Jr Hi feeds into a high school. A couple of minutes and you will be better informed than all those other lazy parents in HRM.
And now for something completely different …… http://funnyexam.com/answers/popular/1578-…
This is not a lazy person bitch. The HRSB website was down all morning so I couldn’t determine which was a feeder school for the families of schools cancelled either. It was mass confusion – I kept my child home in the morning as I thought it said it was cancelled to finally figure out they were open. I also received 1/2 a dozen “test” emails later in the day – HRSB totally fell down on this event.
