Its been bothering me for a while… So here it goes. I often logged onto the Coast’s website to quickly check which bands are playing in town tonight, but since they changed their website, I have to click on a few dozen buttins, then specify ‘today’, and scroll through garbage that plays every week to get to the acts that are ever of interest. And since when was a DJ classified as live music?

Either go back to the old format, or, put the same people who play every week at the end. That is not good music information… its just annoying. Drop the DJs from the section or put them at the end with the ‘every-weeker’s’, and have ‘original live acts’ displayed first. The old website, you clicked one button, and you were told who is playing and where. Now I have to sift through up to 4 pages of nonsense before I get to the goods.

I don’t know who ‘revamped’ the website, but lets consider it a maladaptation. Its not user friendly, and unless its some moronic ‘sell out’ way of having more pages viewed, its idiocy at its finest. I’m starting to look for new sites that are music specific. Employ logic!

  1. Funny, I looked up today’s music and I only had to click twice(Live Music>Today), then wiggle my index finger on the scroll wheel.

  2. Yeah, I just tested it… I found today’s listing quite easily. Maybe if you’re looking for a specific place, then it’s a few keystrokes… OP are you that pathetic that you can’t take 5 minutes to look it up by using the ALPHABETICAL search? Oy… people these days.

  3. I agree.
Its bothered me for a while. all of the top entries are ‘sundays’. things that occur weekly and are common knowledge. and the bulk of them are DJs or karaoke.

I organize the odd event, so for music I find myself gravitating to other sites, both for learning of and promoting events. People are less likely to come across events if they have to scroll through multiple screens and on a saturday, get to a 4th or 5th page because of all the events that happen every week are the ones listed first.

    old website better
