  1. Dat’s perfect enrish to me. Put some more liquor in dere and not so much mix next time. Make it a double!

  2. Fuck that! It drives me crazy when I want a slushie and all you get is a watery ass crappy mixture. Then most of those ghetto places don’t even use the right amount of mix or sugar because they’re cheap fucks. Then what really pisses me off the most is if they have a Slush Puppie sign but are using cheap ass ghetto generic pre-mix, again with not enough sugar.

This is really starting to remind me about the Kool-aid situation.

I am to believe that ISIS doesn’t care for philosophy….Can you share some insight into their ideology?

Well, of course Klyde, I think you’re absolutely right in respect to ISS’s view of philosophy where that is to be understood as a rational exercise – the giving of reasons for one’s views. And you’re right again in referring to their position as one based on ideology, where that is to be understood as an irrational adherence to a set of incontrovertible set of unshakeable beliefs.

And therein lies the difficulty. How, if at all, is one to account for an adherence to an irrational, incontrovertible set of unshakeable beliefs by means of a rational exercise, by any appeal to reasons? There can be none.

The takeaway conclusion, of course, is that I can give no “insight” into their ideology since, by definition, “ideology” itselfg permits no such “insight”. In other words, “ideology” and “insight” are mutually incompatible concepts.

I hope this has been of some help.

    A pleasure as always.

    Cheerio!

  5. IS RATIONALITY JUST ANOTHER IDEOLOGY?

Yes, well that is certainly an understandable response but one mustn’t rush to judgement (if that word has application in the present case). The point is that, for rationalists like me and presumably you, it is inconceivable that rationality, that which is definitive of what it means to be human, has no purchase on minds consumed by ideology. But are we ourselves exempt from ideology? Put differently, is rationality itself little more than just another ideology? The ball is in your court.

Sucks, are you there Sucks? Sucks appears to have left the room. Anyone else?

“Faute de mieux” (that’s French for “Lacking anything better”) I can tackle it if you like.

    A pleasure as always.

    Cheerio!

  7. Interesting thread…..and now I’m craving Bombay Sapphire with a little Vermouth–a not so “liquidy” (in the wrong way) drink, one that also solves the sweetness problem! Hope everyone is having a great Friday night–and that includes you, OP 🙂 Cheers!!

  8. Just looking out my bedroom window in time to see a special-ops team of 5 raccoons infiltrate the parking lot and assault the dumpster. The only thing I can compare it to, is the assault on Bin-Laden`s compound in Zero Dark-Thirty.

  9. OB …my beer is too cold & my chips were too crispy . And what really sucks is I’m making too much money , so I can appreciate where that person’s coming from ~;p
