On the bus commuting last week, I noticed an influx of cars using the bus merge lane at the bottom of Main Street, over the Fairview Overpass through the Windsor Street Exchange. I also drive, but choose to take the bus because of the bus lane, it actually takes less time. Why do these drivers feel that they are entitled to use the bus lane to shave 10 minutes off their commute. Better yet, why do those stuck in bumper to bumper traffic allow these non bus-bus lane users to merge into traffic. It’s ridiculous! —Confused Commuter

I’ve also seen one of them trucks with the huge wheels get off the Fairview Overpass using the Joseph Howe Drive on-ramp during afternoon rush hour! It’s not something you can mistakenly do either, you have to cross, I think, two lanes from the Bedford Highway along with getting into two lanes on incoming traffic from Joseph Howe Drive! Insane!

“Steady on…”
Damn, using that small bus merging lane shaves 10 minutes off their commute? No wonder they’re using it. Thanks for the tip. I’ll let my friends who travel from Rockingham to the rotary know about that one. 😉
Let the bus driver worry about that.
I’ll drink to that!
