The Brogan’s are arrogant scum with power and influence. You don’t f$#@ with the Brogan’s and get away with it. You see Paddy’s bother Nash is a criminal lawyer too ….sorta the Joel Pink of Cape Breton. They have a rep for being violent, hard partying, organized crime types. This family gets away with murder literally. And as for Anne Derrick she was a successful criminal lawyer herself, going above beyond to keep wealthy major criminals on the streets, why would we put lawyers on the bench who are morally deficient…they are well educated liars for hire…there is a serious problem with the system, corruption is law in cape breton. This was Paddy’s third time getting caught drunk at the wheel and there’s no telling how many warnings he’s gotten from the local police that know Brogan’s quite well. If this had happened with no witnesses the boy could have been put in the trunk of Paddy’s car and he’d keep on truckin…in any case, the outcome was very simular.
