This is to the asshole who sped up on the bicentennial when I was trying to merge onto the highway. I realize that you have the right away, but I also shouldn’t have to come to a complete stop on the merger when it’s not busy. You don’t sped up so I can’t merge you inconsiderate piece of shit, you move over into the other lane (which you could have easily done because there were not cars in that lane). So next time someone is trying to merge onto the highway don’t speed up so they have to come to a complete stop on the merger, either move the fuck over or keep a constant speed.

Some people need to learn how to drive!

  1. People like you are the reason why accidents happen. It’s his/her right of way. God forbid YOU have to slow down a bit, or even stop!

  2. I don’t know if it’s written in the driving handbook but when I was taking driving lessons they taught you to move over to the next lane for merging vehicles. Those ramps are for accelerating so you can reach highway speed before you get on the highway. Having to stop on them because someone won’t move over completely defeats the purpose.

  3. You’re right yourmom, I made a mistake there about stopping. With the OP saying that, i guess it shows how much more of a moronic driver they are! I don’t completely disagree with the OP, but let’s say both lanes were busy with traffic, and the person on the right lane couldn’t make room, that shouldn’t piss the person merging off. He/she are only merging. They should accelerate. At the same time. I’m not slowing down to 60 or 80 from 110 for him/her to merge. There’s more than enough room to merge behind me. I’ve never had a problem merging, the only problem i had was when mergers try several times to cut me off when clearly there’s more than enough room to just merge behind me rather than just be hard headed and assert that they just have to merge in front of me and cause me, the cautious driver to tail gate them and cause an accident. Miranda, no comments!!!

  4. I agree with your 2nd point Coyotex about having both lanes of traffic full so you can’t pull to the left to allow the person to merge. However, the OP was talking about this particular driver having a free lane on the left and more importantly intentionally speeding up to disallow her from merging ahead of him/her. That’s just being an asshole. On the other hand to further your point Coyotex, it’s equally annoying when people don’t know how to merge properly. So it takes consideration on both sides.

  5. My apologies to the OP also. No harm meant. I shouldn’t have said moronic. But seriously don’t stop. just keep driving, if they were speeding up, and at the same time you were, you don’t have to get pissed off. if the other driver wants to be a moron, so be it. Just give yourself room. slow down a bit, let him/her go and them merge. It honestly doesn’t hurt to be 2-3 second behind.!

  6. Most drivers here don’t know how to merge. Those on the highway either don’t move left or speed up as the OP described; those in merge lanes far too often stop instead of getting up to speed. Last week I was in the long merge lane from the Bay Road onto the end of the 103 inbound (the way all merge lanes should be built; sadly most are far too short)and was matching speed with a guy in a Camry some distance back. But by the time I got near the end of the lane, he had sped up just as described and was angry that I moved in front of him. All his fault.

  7. And then there are the car weasels. The ones who deliberately get in the wrong lane to bypass a line of traffic, and then try to weasel back in at the last minute. I try to be a courteous driver when it comes to letting people merge, but I’ll go waaaay out of my way to thwart those fuckers.

  8. OMG Miranda that is seriously my biggest pet peeve on the roads. Best thing to do is stay a safe distance behind the car ahead of you but stay close enough so that assholes like that can’t cut in front of you. You can see these idiots from miles away. My favorite spot is at the Windsor St Exchange. In order to get on the McKay from Windsor St, the proper lane to be in is the far right lane. A lot of people, however, will get in the next lane to the left which is supposed to be for traffic going to Barrington St, and as soon as the light goes green they scoot ahead and try to cut back into the far right lane. One time, I saw one crazy bitch cut off a big truck at the last second to get on the bridge. Everyone knew what she was trying to do so no one was letting her back in. It was great! Have some fucking patience you idiots and stay in the proper lane. It’s not worth endangering your own lives and others just to get ahead of a few cars.

  9. arrg! I feel your pain on this one, OP! one time I as driving in Sydney, and lane I was in was exiting onto the highway, and a tanker truck that was well behind me sped up and cut off my chance to exit the lane, forcing me to drive down the highway the opposite direction of my destination for several km before I could find a turnoff and get back in the right direction…
